1937 WILBRAHAM
Bob Hess says that he is fine and
would like to visit again sometime.
He hopes that the rain has not
washed you away.
1940 MONSON
John Auchter is enjoying
retirement. He still serves on the
board of Goodwill Industries and
his church financial board.
1941 MONSON
Charles Adams lost many large
trees in hurricanes Katrina and
Wilma. He is still repairing
damage, but it’s not as bad as the
1992 hurricane. He sold his big
motor yacht two days before the
storm.
1941 WILBRAHAM
John Maynard is happy to report
that he and his wife are fully
recovered from rotator cuff (for
him) and knee replacement
surgery (for her).

1948 WILBRAHAM
Richard S. Mosher said that his
memories and experiences of
Wilbraham are such that he’ll
remember them for the rest of his
life. The school reshaped his life.
1952 WILBRAHAM
The indomitable members of the
Class of ’52 are off again. Helen
and Dwight Gammons and Jan
and Dick Brigham are organizing
an eleven-day River Boat Cruise
from Eastern Europe to The
Black Sea on June 24, 2007,
for classmates. Dick writes, “It
will be an exciting trip to travel
together down the Danube with
Grand Circle Travel and enjoy a
relaxing fun-filled adventure. It
is possible up to ten couples will
be joining us. For those of you
who have taken a River Boat
cruise this will be even more fun
because you will be with friends.
And for those of you who are
concerned about cost, I can only
assure you this is priced right and
you are not getting any younger.
For details please contact me. I

the phone. If ten people sign up
a contribution will be made to
Wilbraham & Monson Academy.”

Don Roy is still active and
employed in Springfield.
Jan and Dick Brigham went
to dinner with Martha and
Ted Schwerdtle at Ann and
Dick Von Hoorn’s Bed and
Breakfast establishment on Lake
Waramaug, Connecticut. Ted
announced he was moving to
Idaho to be nearer his children.
The Von Hoorns have bought
property near Moorehead City,
North Carolina.
In May Ray Walke had coronary
bypass surgery, and in June he
was in scenic Utah where his
teaching duties called him.
Dave Olsen won the mixed
doubles tennis tournament at
the Field Club in Longmeadow
but complains most of his
money goes to sport and racquet
injuries.

Phil Erlenbach is now using a
cane after having his right knee
replaced but well enough to go
on a barge trip in Europe this fall.
Beth and Nat Bond, Jan and
Dick Brigham, and Ingrid and Al
Wegand all celebrated their 50th
Wedding Anniversary this year.
Marcia and Russ Williams invite
classmates to visit them if you
are ever in Ogunquit, the premier
resort town on the Coast of
Maine.
1953 WILBRAHAM
Paul Kinsbury shared a great
dinner and a wonderful evening
with Florence Shaw, Jack ’64W
and Carol Shaw, Wiley Shaw
and cousin, Dorothy Macchi, in
Bonita Springs, Florida.
1956 MONSON
Michael Sokolov has moved
to Stuart, Florida, and is now
a member of Martin Downs
Country Club.

Richard Taylor had a
great visit with Director of
Alumni & Development
Don Nicholson ’79 during
his visit to Texas. Richard
and his wife Sally enjoyed
hearing about the expansion
of the gymnasium.
1956 WILBRAHAM
David Scott retired from the
State of Ohio in 1999 and has
set up a software LLC called
Dave Scott, LTD. The business is
designing and maintaining Web
sites, computer training, and
network administration jobs. His
new e-mail address is dscott91@
columbus.rr.com.
1960 WILBRAHAM
Brian Randall and his wife Evelyn
had a nice visit with Elaine and
Dick Slosek last November in
Southern California. They drove
up to the Reagan Library in Simi
Valley and shared memories over
a great dinner in Marina Del Ray.
1961 MONSON
John Brockway retired in 2004
after 37 years of teaching. He is
enjoying volunteer work, Habitat
for Humanity, church, historical
society, travel, and yard work.
1967 WILBRAHAM
Ewoud Doyer is now working as
a part-time advisor and interim
manager in the Netherlands,
focusing on the food business.
His assignments have been in
managing candy factories and
being a personal coach.
1968 WILBRAHAM
David Hoxeng’s classic country
radio station WYCT in Pensacola,
Florida, garnered small-market
station of the year honors at
the Academy of Country Music
Awards held in May at the MGM
Grand in Las Vegas.
