President’s Message<br />

<strong>Club</strong> President Jeff Martin<br />

Your <strong>Club</strong> ended 2011 on a positive financial note. Our net income for the<br />

year was $54,057 compared to our budgeted loss of ($23,301) and last<br />

year of $29,726. While this is good news, we need to keep in mind that<br />

$36,100 was income from the assessment. When you adjust our net income<br />

for these factors, it would have been $17,957. Also, keep in mind<br />

that we have had the benefit of an Bruce Weinkauf serving as Interim <strong>Club</strong><br />

Manager which saved us significant expense. We are in the process of<br />

developing our <strong>2012</strong> budget now that we have a better feel for our membership<br />

numbers. Bruce reports that 19 of the 24 members who joined on<br />

our promotional program have continued their membership. This is very<br />

good news! In <strong>February</strong> I will be able to give you an update on our projected<br />

financial situation for <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

John Femal reported that the course looks to be holding up nicely thus<br />

far. He also “torched” the piles of debris from the storm damage and to my<br />

knowledge the area Fire Departments where not called upon to prevent<br />

the whole area from being set ablaze! Thanks again to all of you who<br />

helped with the clean up throughout the year. The combined New Years<br />

and Anniversary Dinner/Dance was a big success with 80 people in attendance.<br />

The food and ambiance was outstanding! Thanks to Chef and<br />

Cheryl for all their work to make that evening memorable.<br />

I want to correct an oversight on last month’s note when I overlooked recognizing<br />

Greg Pezl and his staff for all the good work they do to keep our<br />

golf operations running. This includes planning and managing the many<br />

golf events, managing our golf cart program, running the driving range and<br />

assisting our golf members. Thank you Greg!<br />

One group that does not often get recognized is your Board of Directors.<br />

They all give selflessly of their time and energies. I personally want<br />

to thank those listed below for all their efforts to make Our <strong>Club</strong> successful:<br />

Don’t fret, the golf season is right around the corner. I’ve always predicted that our course will<br />

be open for play by April 10. While I have been wrong a few times more years than not mother<br />

nature allows to be playing by then. We are only about 70 days from teeing it up. Keep the<br />

faith!!<br />

Included in this edition of <strong>Club</strong>lines are the calendar’s for both <strong>February</strong> and <strong>March</strong>. Weekly<br />

updates that are emailed will provide additional information on specific events as well as keeping<br />

you up to date with changes at your <strong>Club</strong>.<br />

Please don’t forget about your <strong>Club</strong> during the months before the golf season begins. Our<br />

lunch served in the lounge is geared both for those who need to be in and out quickly and those<br />

who want to enjoy a leisurely lunch while enjoying the beautiful views that our <strong>Club</strong>house provides.<br />

Our dinner choices prepared by Chef Pierre are spectacular. Come on out and enjoy the<br />

atmosphere and fine dining that our <strong>Club</strong> offers.<br />

We still have a large amount of debris on our property as a result of the July windstorm. A<br />

volunteer crew headed by Bob Dzikoski has been working on piling and burning the debris.<br />

This past week Paul Katz and Jay Cook worked with Bob between holes 7 and 13 and they<br />

made quite a dent in the piles. If you have any interest in getting some fresh air and exercise let<br />

me know and I’ll have Bob add you to his email list of volunteers.<br />

Hello, and greetings from the Kitchen. My staff and I are busy at<br />

work planning upcoming member events. Valentine’s Day is just<br />

around the corner and I have a delicious menu planned for you,<br />

starting with Hudson Valley foie gras on warm brie to share. For<br />

the main course we are featuring steak and lobster and Macadamia<br />

Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi along with other selections. We hope to make<br />

it a special night.<br />

Be sure to mark your calendar for our St. Patrick’s Day Celebration<br />

on Thursday, <strong>March</strong> 15. We will be featuring some authentic Gaelic<br />

fare. Hope to see you there.<br />

In future editions of <strong>Club</strong>lines I will be sharing some of my<br />

favorite recipes. Next month watch for “Cognac Shrimp with<br />
