A nail-down application makes Eterna strips
easy to install. Prefinished strips means there’s
no dust and no unpleasant odors.
Eterna hardwood flooring must be installed
on main floors and above.

HUMIDITY CONTROL
Humidity is wood’s worst enemy. To protect your floors,
maintain humidity levels between 45% and 55%. If necessary,
use the proper devices such as a dehumidifier in the summer or
a humidifier during the cold season when heating tends to
make the air overly dry.
REGULAR CLEANING
Maintain your floor with the Eterna Floor-Care cleanser kit–
it’s so simple! Apply the hardwood floor cleanser on the mop –
not directly on the surface – to clean the floor while
protecting the finish.
TOUCH-UPS
In addition, should your floor need minor repairs,
Eterna Touch-up kits provide the matching stain and varnish!

A FEW OTHER TIPS
• Beware of abrasives. Sweep or vacuum regularly and put mats
without rubber undersides at each entrance to avoid tracking
dirt in your home.
• Put felt pads or casters designed for hard surfaces under
furniture; keep them clean and in good condition.
• Leave high heels at the door because broken or worn heels
can even damage a cement floor.
• Keep the claws of your pets well trimmed.
• Wipe spills immediately.

Interpreting your look
Eterna grades wood according to appearance to suit all
preferences. Selecting a grade is essentially a matter of taste since
the quality of the wood and the highly precise manufacturing
process of the strips is the same for all grades.
SELECT & BETTER
The Select & Better grade appearance is virtually
uniform, with the exception of slight color variations
and mineral streaks as well as the presence of small,
healthy knots. Great for classic or contemporary
interiors!
VOGUE
A blend of Select & Better and Tradition, the Vogue
grade is a great compromise featuring natural color
variations from light to dark, mineral streaks and
some healthy knots.
TRADITION
The Tradition grade brings out the wood’s true
character, with more natural color variations, mineral
streaks and knots – an excellent choice for country
designed interiors.
CHOOSING SIZES
Choose strips that are 2 1/4" (57 mm), 3 1/4" (83 mm) or 4 1/4"
(108 mm) wide, depending on the desired effect. A narrower strip
will enhance the variation in grain pattern of the wood.
A SOOTHING GLOW
Eterna hardwood flooring comes in a semi-gloss finish, except for
Souvenir offered in a low gloss finish.
DURABILITY
The standard assessment of a species’ hardness is the Janka test.
The Janka scale below shows the relative hardness of each
wood species.
For normal residential use, hardness is not usually a critical
decisive factor, since there is very little difference in impact
resistance between species.

In 1927, a Canadian-born engineer discovered that quartz helped
keep time with an unmatched precision. At Eterna, we draw on
its power by crafting our prefinished hardwood floors with the
accuracy of a quartz clock to preserve the heritage of the wood.
• Eterna wood is selected for its special characteristics
and beauty – only the finest will do.
• Stringent quality controls conducted throughout the manufacturing
process ensure quality and consistency of each strip.
• Computer-assisted cutting produces perfectly sized strips
for precision-fit assembly.
• Computer-controlled drying keeps humidity at an ideal level between
6% and 9% for long-term stability.
• Floors can be re-sanded at least 5 times.
SOLID FASTENING
• Tongue and groove adjusted on all four sides provides long
lasting and solid fastening.
IMPECCABLY UNIFORM SURFACE
• Constant 3/4" (19 mm) thickness also ensures
long lasting stability.
• Small micro-beveled joints on all four sides of the strips.
• Panel sanding evens out the thickness of each strip.
UNIFORM STAINING
• Great, even color with computer-controlled staining and
ultraviolet drying of the strips.
CAREFUL HANDLING
All strips are carefully hand packed in cartons for a final
quality inspection.
