Measurement & follow-up<br />

Just one click on the measure icon will<br />

start the manual temperature measurement<br />

of all cables. You can directly<br />

see the measurement progress as<br />

the cable currently queried will be<br />

marked blue. DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft evaluates<br />

immediately the temperatures <strong>and</strong><br />

changes the cable colours <strong>in</strong> case of<br />

alarm. When the measurement process<br />

is f<strong>in</strong>ished the user confirms a<br />

possible alarm background <strong>in</strong>dication<br />

<strong>and</strong> played sound by click<strong>in</strong>g on the<br />

“switch off alarm” icon. Then he can<br />

follow-up critical cables step by step:<br />

A right-side-click <strong>in</strong>dicates the table of<br />

current sensor temperatures, a left-sideclick<br />

activates a temperature diagram,<br />

show<strong>in</strong>g the temperature development<br />

of the different sensors over the time<br />

(range of both axis can be changed). If<br />

desired you can zoom <strong>in</strong> marked areas<br />

<strong>and</strong> put a po<strong>in</strong>ter to the <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g<br />

curve to see the measured value <strong>and</strong><br />

time <strong>in</strong> exact figures. By this DuoL<strong>in</strong>e<br />

soft supplies all necessary <strong>in</strong>formation<br />

soon, well arranged <strong>and</strong> efficient to the<br />

user. Alternatively it is also possible to<br />

measure only one s<strong>in</strong>gle cell e.g. for<br />

controll<strong>in</strong>g ventilation, cool<strong>in</strong>g or gass<strong>in</strong>g<br />

progress.<br />

Fully automatic operation<br />

DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft is designed for a fully<br />

automatic operation. The operator can<br />

def<strong>in</strong>e measurement <strong>in</strong>tervals or measurement<br />

times. At the preset times the<br />

software starts the measurement <strong>and</strong><br />

gives alarm if the preset alarm criteria<br />

are fulfilled.<br />

When the software runs <strong>in</strong> background,<br />

the DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR soft icon <strong>in</strong> the task<br />

bar starts flash<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> case of alarm.<br />

Pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g<br />

DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft allows to pr<strong>in</strong>t a protocol<br />

with the temperature read<strong>in</strong>gs <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g<br />

their difference aga<strong>in</strong>st the former<br />

measurement: All values can be reduced<br />

to critical read<strong>in</strong>gs or limit read<strong>in</strong>gs<br />

only by us<strong>in</strong>g the filter function. The<br />

<strong>in</strong>tegrated pr<strong>in</strong>t preview shows you the<br />

result<strong>in</strong>g report on the PC screen before<br />

pr<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>g. The protocol conta<strong>in</strong>s also the<br />

def<strong>in</strong>ed limit criteria, measur<strong>in</strong>g<br />

time, user address.<br />

<strong>in</strong> bold characters.<br />

<strong>Temperature</strong> Monitor<strong>in</strong>g System<br />

Application<br />

The temperature control <strong>in</strong>side the<br />

gra<strong>in</strong> store is one of the most important<br />

measures to guarantee storage<br />

quality. Increas<strong>in</strong>g temperatures are an<br />

<strong>in</strong>dicator for pest <strong>in</strong>festation or moisture<br />

problems. The temperature monitor<strong>in</strong>g<br />

system DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR is used for<br />

fully automatic temperature control <strong>in</strong><br />

gra<strong>in</strong> <strong>stores</strong> to recognise <strong>and</strong> prevent<br />

damages <strong>in</strong> time. DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR can<br />

also be used to control the efficiency of<br />

measures taken for the health preservation,<br />

just as cool<strong>in</strong>g, ventilation <strong>and</strong><br />

gass<strong>in</strong>g.<br />

DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR System<br />

The sensors are digitally connected<br />

to the PC operated DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft box by<br />

means of control modules via a fourwire-bus<br />

. In addition to this an external<br />

temperature, humidity <strong>and</strong> dew po<strong>in</strong>t<br />

sensor (option) can be connected to<br />

the bus. The <strong>in</strong>stallation efforts are<br />

very small for exist<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> the same way<br />

as for new build<strong>in</strong>gs! The silo plan is<br />

graphically presented on the PC screen<br />

show<strong>in</strong>g directly the locations of temperature<br />

problems.<br />

Easy <strong>in</strong>stallation<br />

The DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR-bus allows a fast<br />

<strong>and</strong> economic cabl<strong>in</strong>g. The <strong>in</strong>stallation<br />

work is reduced to a m<strong>in</strong>imum, as only<br />

four leads are required for the complete<br />

long-distance cabl<strong>in</strong>g. DuoL<strong>in</strong>e STAR<br />

is suitable for serial <strong>and</strong> star-shaped<br />

<strong>in</strong>stallation or a comb<strong>in</strong>ation of both.<br />

The bus cable is connected to the<br />

DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft box which h<strong>and</strong>les data<br />

transmission with the PC by USB. Duo-<br />

L<strong>in</strong>e soft runs under W<strong>in</strong>dows 2000/XP<br />

<strong>and</strong> can easily be <strong>in</strong>stalled on every<br />

usual W<strong>in</strong>dows PC.<br />

Software philosophy<br />

DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft is lean <strong>and</strong> comfortable.<br />

No need to navigate through<br />

convoluted menus, all frequently used<br />

functions can be activated just with<br />

one mouse click on the correspond<strong>in</strong>g<br />

icon. The DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft philosophy<br />

is to provide the temperatures graphically<br />

processed <strong>and</strong> clearly arranged.<br />

Further details can be recalled by<br />

click<strong>in</strong>g on the desired cable. So the<br />

user can immediately see on areas of<br />

problems <strong>in</strong> the gra<strong>in</strong> storage <strong>and</strong> react<br />

immediatelly.<br />

Features<br />

The software allows you to measure,<br />

evaluate <strong>and</strong> pr<strong>in</strong>t the temperature<br />

values. In addition the <strong>in</strong>tegrated data<br />

base <strong>stores</strong> all measured data automatically.<br />

Silo cell names, limits, measurement<br />

times, pr<strong>in</strong>ter text <strong>and</strong> other<br />

parameters can be set effortlessly. With<br />

the built-<strong>in</strong> CAD tool you can comfortably<br />

configure the system while draw<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the cables <strong>and</strong> cells by drag <strong>and</strong><br />

drop <strong>in</strong> the floor plan. Different operation<br />

languages are available <strong>and</strong> can be<br />

changed “on-l<strong>in</strong>e” by the user.<br />

Different alarm criteria<br />

The DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft offers you the follow<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

freely def<strong>in</strong>able alarm criteria:<br />

Absolute Limit Value: Cables with<br />

temperatures rais<strong>in</strong>g the absolute limit<br />

value e.g. 30 °C will be marked red on<br />

the PC screen.<br />

Critical Area: (so called “hysteresis”)<br />

For e.g. 3 °C it is from 27 to 30 °C.<br />

Cables <strong>in</strong> the citical area with <strong>in</strong>creas<strong>in</strong>g<br />

values will marked p<strong>in</strong>k while cables<br />

with decreas<strong>in</strong>g temperatures will be<br />

yellow coloured.<br />

Delta Alarm: Increases a temperature<br />

e.g. by 5 °C <strong>in</strong> 7 days alarm is <strong>in</strong>dicated<br />

by a purple cable.<br />

The alarm criteria can be def<strong>in</strong>ed generally<br />

or cell specific. You can also select<br />

certa<strong>in</strong> sensors for non-consideration<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g alarm evaluation (e.g. top sensor<br />

for partly filled steel <strong>silos</strong>).<br />

In case of alarm the background of<br />

the ground plan will get red show<strong>in</strong>g<br />

“ALARM” <strong>and</strong> the DuoL<strong>in</strong>e soft icon<br />

<strong>in</strong> the task bar stats flash<strong>in</strong>g. A user<br />

def<strong>in</strong>ed sound file can be played by the<br />

PC supplementary.
