jam sessions.

Headlining this year's festival is Ingrid James and
the 'San Gabriel 7', featuring the legendary
trombonist Bill Watrous,
7 time winner - 'Jazz
Trombonist of the Year', Downbeat Magazine.
A special welcome to our Los Angeles visitors, Bill
Watrous, trombone; Jim Lewis, trombone; Frank
Villafranca, sax and Randy Drake,
drums.
They are complimented by Australian musicians Louise
Denson, keyboard; Ben Hauptmann, guitar; Andrew
McNaughton, trumpet; Owen Newcomb,
bass.
Trudy Lile Quartet
AUCKLAND NZ
After her unforgettable performance with the Jazz
Divas last year, we welcome the return of brilliant
flautist/vocalist Trudy Lile.
Completing the quartet
are Larry Thomson on keyboard; Bob Passmore,
bass; and Trudy's regular NZ drummer Jason Orme.
Bukovsky Sextet 'Adderley’ Tribute
ACT/SYDNEY
Miroslav Bukovsky,
one of Australia's finest
trumpet/flugel players, will lead his sextet in a
tribute to jazz greats Cannonball and Nat Adderley
with John Mackey, tenor sax; Matt Handel,
alto
sax: Andy Butler, keyboard; Rohan Dasika,
bass
and Mark Sutton,
drums.
Cassie Godbold Quartet BRISBANE
Winner of our Young Performers Encouragement
Award last year, saxophonist Cassie,
now in her final
year at the Queensland Conservatorium, leads her
quartet of James Ball, keyboard; Sam Maguire,
bass and Thomas Robb,
drums.

USA born John Hoffman returns with an exciting
line-up of young talent from the Queensland
Conservatorium.
John Hoffman, trumpet/flugel; Cassandra
Godbold, sax, James Ball, keyboard; Sam Maguire,
bass; Thomas Robb, drums and vocalist Laura
Karlson-Carp.
BRISBANE
“ she is by far one of the best jazz vocalists I have ever

Gifted singer, Ingrid James,
recorded with the 'San
Gabriel 7' in Los Angeles late 2011, returning
stateside earlier this year to launch 'Lost My Heart’.
Ingrid is accompanied by Louise Denson on
keyboard; Owen Newcomb, bass and Randy Drake
(USA), drums.
Multi-award winning guitarist Ben Hauptmann,
will
perform music from his recently released recording,
accompanied by his sister Zoe Hauptmann on bass,
brother in-law Evan Mannell on drums and
featuring Melbourne compatriots Gian Slater,
vocals; Chris Hale, 6 string bass and Julian Banks,
tenor sax.
TOWNSVILLE
We complete this star studded line-up with one of
our brilliant Townsville bands led by vocalist Vicki
Salisbury; accompanied by David Salisbury,
sax &
flute; Mark Wyer, piano; Larry Thomson , guitar;
Bob Passmore, electric bass and Reg Braun,
drums.
