To help make it easier for customers to select the <strong>HP</strong> product that best suits their needs, <strong>HP</strong> is changing its naming<br />
<strong>and</strong> model numbering system for imaging <strong>and</strong> printing products.<br />
Taking a descriptive <strong>and</strong> straightforward approach to naming, the <strong>HP</strong> naming architecture follows a basic hierarchy<br />
that begins with the master br<strong>and</strong>, followed by a sub-br<strong>and</strong> or family name, model number, modifier <strong>and</strong> descriptor.<br />
The model number<br />
<strong>HP</strong> imaging <strong>and</strong> printing products now include one or two lead alphas in the model number. Although some<br />
lead alphas are abbreviations of product categories, most lead alphas have simply been assigned to a particular<br />
product category <strong>and</strong> sub-br<strong>and</strong>. The assigned numerals represent functionality, while trailing alphas in the<br />
model number indicate product features not found in the base model.<br />
