RECOMMENDATION<br />

Accept <str<strong>on</strong>g>Gifts</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Parks</str<strong>on</strong>g> d<strong>on</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s and direct staff to prepare d<strong>on</strong>or letters of appreciati<strong>on</strong><br />

<str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> Mayor's signature.<br />

BACKGROUND<br />

The City's <str<strong>on</strong>g>Gifts</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> <str<strong>on</strong>g>Parks</str<strong>on</strong>g> Program, established in 1982, provides a means by which<br />

interested individuals, organizati<strong>on</strong>s, and/or businesses may c<strong>on</strong>tribute funds or<br />

merchandise <str<strong>on</strong>g>for</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>the</strong> enhancement of <strong>the</strong> City's Recreati<strong>on</strong> and <str<strong>on</strong>g>Parks</str<strong>on</strong>g> facilities and<br />

programs. D<strong>on</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s, as prescribed by law, are tax deductible as charitable<br />

c<strong>on</strong>tributi<strong>on</strong>s.<br />

DISCUSSION<br />

The City has received <strong>the</strong> following d<strong>on</strong>ati<strong>on</strong>s from August 1 st<br />

2012.<br />
