Last term 27 Yr 9’s went on the first Eyre Peninsula Tour accompanied by 8 Yr 11’s and staff. We travelled by bus to Ceduna, Kimba, Pt Augusta and Wudinna and passed through a lot of places on the way. We ran training lessons with the students ranging from Yr 2 to Yr 11’s. I really enjoyed the trip, especially meeting all the kids and seeing the differences in the school gyms and how lucky we are at Brighton to have the facilities we have. I also liked the fishing and would advise any one that got a chance to do this in the future to go. We received many comments from fellow travellers about the students’ good manners and respect and attitude to the other park guests. We would be more that happy for them to return at any time and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any park or accommodation house. They look great when the team all wear them in the competitions so grab a pair before they sell out. BRIGHTON SPORTS BAGS If you missed out last year—here is your chance to get one. Order forms have been emailed home to Year 8 students or available in class for other year levels. KRISPY KREME DOUNUTS Delivery Date will be Wed 22nd August to coincide with Yr 8/9/10 Parent/Student/Teacher conferences so you can bring the car to collect them! Order forms have been email home.. IN ZONE TRIALS Trials for Yr 7 students who already have right of entry to the school, either by living in the school’s zone or by sibling rights will be held on Tuesday 21st August and Wednesday 29th August. Students only need to attend on one of these days. There will be an invitation to trial for the SIV program included in your information pack from Brighton Secondary School shortly and this will give instructions on how to ring and book in . STATE CUP—IMPORTANT!! If your child will be playing in the upcoming State Cup Competition in September, they MUST be registered with VSA. If you are playing in the VSA Junior League competition, you should already have registered. If you are only playing in the SA Schools Cup you will only need to pay the $10 recreational membership, however if selected for AVSC in Melb you will need to upgrade to the full $50 membership (please note price increase from last year).
