I know <strong>Zenit</strong> is a slr and <strong>Yashica</strong> a rangefinder, just wondering which one is overall better?<br />

The <strong>Zenit</strong>h weighs around 8 hundredweight!! So pound for pound it is better value!<br />

The <strong>Yashica</strong> <strong>35</strong> <strong>GSN</strong> was a classic - in the 1970's! My brother had one! His was the balck GTN<br />

though. Same camera different colour. It was a beautiful camera that worked as good as it looked!<br />

Wonder if he still has it :-)<br />

BUT I would go for the <strong>Zenit</strong>h because you can change the lens - the <strong>Yashica</strong> has a fixed (45mm?)<br />

lens. BUT the <strong>Zenit</strong>h has more moving parts (mirror, shutter curtain) so is more likely to fail!<br />

Hmmmm.... Difficult choice!! Go <strong>Yashica</strong>!<br />

Given the age of the <strong>Yashica</strong>, I would have tendency to pass. I would not even consider the <strong>Zenit</strong><br />

due to it's country of orgin.<br />

You might want the opinion of a well know camera repair service. As to availability of repair or parts.<br />

I think the <strong>Zenit</strong> makes a cooler shelf ornament. If you're looking for a not-too-expensive film camera<br />

for actual use, get a Promaster 2500 PK Super.<br />
