Soon after our show in Warrensburg,
we were contacted by Jill Huxol wanting to
help create a show in the Kentucky area. She,
Roxanna Bourassa, and Denise Sexton formed
the ASDR Club of Kentucky and we all started
working on this show.
Saturday morning was for the club.
We started out with a handling class given by
Jill Huxol. Jill is a handling instructor in the
Owensboro area. After the handling class they
began their puppy fun match. Puppies are easier
for a new person to show, so they thought it
would give the puppies and novice handlers
another chance to win. The judge for the fun
match was Patty Brigance with Chelsea Diehls as
Ring Steward.
After lunch we had our sanctioned
performance events—Rally, Agility, and Herding
Instinct. All are done at novice-on leash level so
anyone could take a stab at the events.
Denise Sexton was in charge of Agility and
Herding and Jill Huxol Rally and also was the
CGC evaluator. Our performance event points go
toward the Top Dog Award given at the end of
the show. Approximately 25 dogs competed in
various performance classes. Lots of fun was had
by all including the people watching.
After the performance events were over
we went back to the Hotel for a dinner catered
by Chef Gregg. We gave door prizes and also the
silent auction winners were revealed.
Sunday morning the Sanctioned
Conformation show started bright and early.
We had 58 dogs entered in this part of the
show. Standard, Mini and Toy Aussies were
represented and judged by Julian Kowalsky with
Patty Brigance as Ring Steward.
As soon as this part of the show was
over we tallied the points and Ray and PeriAnne
Williams, Goodhue, MN with Saddlebags Hi-Yo
Silver were awarded the Top Dog prize, as well as
fi rst place in the Breeders Showcase.
Carol Crim, Rineyville, KY with Crim‛s Oklahoma
Chip was awarded Reserve Top Dog and was
Reserve Breeders Showcase winner.
A great time was had by all. Keep
