It is my great pleasure to be at the opening of the exhibition “red dot design award
winners from the Czech Republic 1995-2011”.
Design, as a central area of the knowledge economy, is creating new things from
the combination of the existing general elements of business, service and experience
through innovative imagination. During the last decade, the designers from the
Czech Republic indicate that the development of the Czech design has reached
recently a new, much more competitive level. Twenty red dot design awards in all
three categories represent an evident proof of the Czech design „success story“.
The works by Czech designers have been introduced in South Korea in numerous
exhibitions such as Design Korea 2007 as well as Seoul Design Olympiad in 2008.
I do trust that the exhibition “red dot design award winners from the Czech Republic
1995-2011“ will contribute to the further promotion of the Czech design masterpieces
among Korean design professionals as well as general public and at the same time
will strengthen mutual co-operation in the field of design between the two countries.

서울에서 개최되는“red dot design award winners from the Czech Republic 1995-2011”
개최에 대한 매우 기쁜 마음을 전합니다.
21세기 디자인은 지식경제시대의 핵심분야로써 통합적 상상력을 바탕으로 비즈니스, 서비스,
경험에 관한 전반적인 것들을 접목시켜 새롭게 창출해 나가고 있습니다. 지난 10년 동안 체코
디자이너들은 체코 디자인의 경쟁력을 높이는 데에 많은 공헌을 하였으며, 20번의 레드닷 디자
인 어워드를 통하여, 그 결과들을 확인할 수 있습니다.
체코 디자인은 디자인코리아 2007, 서울디자인올림픽 2008등 이외의 많은 매체를 통하여 한국
에 소개 되었습니다. 이번 전시를 통해서 한국의 전문가들과 일반 대중들에게도 훌륭한 체코디자
인 작품들을 더욱 홍보하고, 양국의 디자인 분야의 협력을 강화하는 소중한 기회가 될 것으로 기
대합니다.
