CLIMBING
RISKPROTECT srl./GmbH is a company specialized in the development and manufacture of climbing hardware, in particular, hot forging goods
such as karabiners and quick-draws. OUR AIM IS TO PRODUCE HAPPINESS, and we try to do that by putting into people’s hands nice, safe,
particular and unique products. Our products are more than climbing equipment because they stand for individuality and customization.
Our team is knowledgeable and experienced in any step of the design, development and manufacturing technologies. Riskprotect’s
beginnings are still young as it has been founded in the year 2008 as an “ideas’ lab” for climbing and work’s safety gear. During the first
years we focused on the development and creation of new and innovative products for other brands, so we were more back- than
front-stage. With and for those brands we have won several international awards for products’ design, among them, the Red-Dot Design
Award, a few times the Outdoor Industry-Award and last but not least the ISPO Brand-new Award.
Through our new internet page in november 2012 and together with our new concept-store we mark the launch of our own brand
and trademark: Riskprotect. By creating our own brand we want to send a strong message that we are walking off the beaten path
and we wish that our way of thinking and doing will create goodwill, empathy and sympathy on our partners, customers and
friends.
All Riskprotect’s products are developed by our team of designers and engineers, and manufactured by our net of highly
specialized external producers. By manufacturing externally we are able to ensure that our products are manufactured
by the best-in-class and guarantee world-class quality. We are not hiding the fact that we use asian manufacturers but
we use them because are simply the best, far better than western producers, and rest assure that we will not trade
down quality for price, never!
After production, we have all our products tested by independent certification entities to ensure that they pass the
different norms and regulations, and they are all CE certified. Aside we do our own continuous and severe
quality controls so that functionality and safety is always guaranteed.
(Fondo, Italy, XY, 7c/7c+)
ENJOYMENT WITH YOUR EQUIPMENT
Our prices, terms and conditions, are based on the rule of fair play. We neither give away anything nor we
exploit our partners or customers, quality has its price and must be acknowledged by all parties involved.
We are against “price wars” with our competitors which inevitably end in ever less quality and we cannot
accept that a quick-draw set ends costing less than a “cappuccino and a croissant”.
We conclude this short presentation with the hope and conviction that there will be many among
the climbers that share our philosophy and that will find please and joy using our products.

The Element 32 has a very clean shape and is reduced to the minimum. But at the same time has
everything that professionals need. When our mountain guides use this bag they store all their
safety gear in the big main compartment. So in a stress situation there is no risk of waisting
time to search for the right pocket or for the right zipper to access your equipment. To keep
overview and order we provide this bag with 2 extra large mesh bags. In wintertime our
professionals use one of this mash bags for the avalanche safety gear such as shovel,
probe and first aid kit while in summer you can store slings, karabiners, friends and
nuts. The second mesh bag helps you to keep garments clean and well stored.
The Element 32 has 2 inconspicuous side pockets for small things like caps,
RP Gear
Bag is a 30L
sized waterproof
backpack which is
reduced to the minimum.
The shoulder parts and the
back are without padding and
thanks to this the bag can be folded
easily and fits into bigger luggage. This
makes the RP gear Bag a perfect partner for
expeditions where it can be used ad daypack.
This bag seems to be uncomfortable but it isn’t. The trick is to
pack the softer parts such as jackets, pants, shirts in the back part.
The result is a very lightweight, resistant, waterproof and easy to fold
backpack for all kind of activities.

KARABINER
HMS 112
> the truth of tradition
17

18
Classic HMS Karabiner
with screw lock. Climbers
love this karabiner because of
the round shape which guarantee
perfect gliding of the rope and
the Italian hitch. The HMS 112 SC is
perfect in combination with two half
ropes because of the big gate opening and a
total length of 112mm.
I like HMS screw lock karabiners because they are the
only ones where in extreme situations it is possible to
make the claw hitch with one hand while the other hand is
holding a grip. Another thing that you should know is that the
scew nut of all kind of karabiners should never be closed by
force. Because if you close the screw nut very tight and then you
load it, the nut can chock and as a consequence it may be very
difficult to re-open the karabiner gate. In the case this will happen to
you you must re-load the karabiner and unscrew the nut under load.
KARABINER
HAWK
> the performance of safety
19

20
This B-Type Karabiner is designed
in a quickdraw-shape and equipped
with a screw lock. The HAWK SC is a
multi-talent karabiner and can be used in
all situations where a safe and quick locking
of the gate is essential. One very smart use of
this karabiner is in combination with the
SAFE-EXPRESS which is described in the profi-tip or
by clicking the article 32010 SET HAWK SC QUICK-
DRAW.
Already twice I unclip a quickdraw unintended with the
movement of my knee. Since then I use a quickdraw set with 2
screw karabiners in situations where the bolts are very far and at
the crux there’s danger to touch the karabiners with some body part.
The JOLLY SCREW QUICKDRAW SET in my opinion is also recommended
when you’re trying to climb a project and you fall continuously at the same
bolt. My personal sport-climbing gear consists into 15 to 18 normal quickdraws
and one or two sets with screw gate. But please! don’t overact: use the set with
screw karabiners only on strategic positions such as the crux and where bolts are
very far.
INNOVATION
SNAKE
> the simplicity of thinking
21

22
The SNAKE is a fixation for any kind of karabiners
and will avoid the turning of the karabiner which
can be dangerous in many situations. The SNAKE is
very simple and easy to use and it can be fixed directly
on the karabiner body or on the gate if space is enough.
The special rubber is very resistant to the cold and hot and
is long time tested by many mountain guides.
The market offers various karabiners with integrated
“anti-turning-features”. For sure all this karabiners work well, but
for me what the market was offering at the time I invented the
SNAKE was not enough and not the best solution. Therefore I cut a
simple pcs. of rubber and made the very first prototype of SNAKE. It
seemed to work and together with Riskprotect we industrialize this
hand-made proto to the final product. In my opinion a huge benefit
of this product is that I can be used in combination with all my
existing karabiners and there is no need to by some new ones
which are limited to a certain use. With the SNAKE when I
need the “anti-turning” function I can put the rubber on
the karabiner body and when this function is not
essential for me I simply remove it in a few of
seconds. So I can keep my climbing equipment
very flexible and I’m never limited to a
specific use.
88M 6-pack
> the puristic way
on request also available as single items (art. code 22001)
23

24
Small single carabiner for multi-pitch routes and ice-climbing.
Thanks to the range of 6 colors this carabiner helps to keep
friends, nuts or ice-screw in perfect order on your gear loops.
Especially in extreme situations with this carabiner your gear
will be easier to take. The straight wire gate is maintenance
free and very lightweight.
When I climb alpine or multi-pitch routes I always take
4-5 single carabiners with me. They are very useful for
extensions of my quickdraws and help me to avoid
rope friction. Especially when climbing in friable
rock it is essential that the rope is gliding very
smooth. I like to use single carabiners and a
couple of slings instead of carrying many
quickdraws. Doing it this way I can be very
flexible and last but not least save some
weight.
The Jolly ST is a high-performance quickdraw karabiner made by
hot-forging. The gate is designed in an ergonomic shape and guarantee
perfect grip for your fingers. The karabiner body is made in a T
shape which is the construction base for low weight and a
maximum in strength of this item. Beside all this tecnical features
this karabiner is unique because of the 6 fresh and stylish colors.
This colorful karabiners are perfect for my nuts, friends or ice
The JOLLY STW is a very lightweight and high performance
quickdraw set. The solid gate of the Jolly st. is designed to guarantee a
very good grip and ergonomic handling. The wire karabiner at the rope
side is proof against undesired openings caused from vibrations during a
fall. The rope karabiner is fixed with a rubber which is integrated into the
webbing sling. Colorwise the SET JOLLY STW is available in a timeless
steel-blue or in a very modern and trendy green/pink/blue combination.
One of the most important things when you’re tying a route on-sight is to have a
good plan and to clip the quickdraws at the best position. The best position doesn’t
mean as early as possible, but it means with the best hold. This simple advice will help
you to safe a lot of power. Most of people are clipping as early as they can because they
are anguish to fall. Try to increase your mental force and things will be easier.
Colorful karabiners are fantastic when climbing with
children. You can give to each karabiner a score or
you can be creative in other ways by simply
playing with the colors. When climbing with
adults the colored karabiners are useful when
HELMETS
VIKKI
helmet
35

36
The VIKKI climbing helmet is constructed using a
hybrid of technologies and materials. While
standard In-Moulding helmets are made of a outer
shell of 0,75 to 1mm thickness for the VIKKI helmet we
use a 2mm thick polycarbonate layer. This helps us to
guarantee a safety standard which is much higher than the
CE norm directs. The shock absorption is managed from the
polystyrene foam liner while comfort is assured by simple
adjustability and soft padding. Skin friendly straps and
integrated headlamp clips are just a few of the other indications
which makes the VIKKI a very safe and comfortable climbing
helmet.
Size: 55 to 62
Certification: EN 12492
Origin: 100% Italy
Materials: PC, EPS, Nylon
Weight: 330g – one of the lightest in his category
The Vikki helmet is a very good choice for all those who
like a very safe, durable and comfortable helmet. In
fact the Vikki helmet doesn’t pretend to be the
lightest helmet on the market but is still light
and for me a very good choice for a “daily use
helmet”. The design is very unique and it
makes fun to wear this helmet.
