A Bob Drake catalog ad from early 1989 shows Bob as a child in 

Kenosha, Wisconsin around 1947, posed in front of a ’32 Chevy 

four door sedan owned by his father Bev. The senior Drake was 

a body and fender man and owned many different makes and 

models of cars, but was overly fond of his Fords. Decades later 

when asked about this picture, Bev replied; “I’d wish I’d known 

back then just where his future would take him, but the Chevy 

just happened to be there and Bobby loved cars, so I took the 

shot, simple as that.”
