We are extremely happy to announce <strong>and</strong> organize the first<br />

<strong>RCOG</strong> <strong>Basic</strong> <strong>Practical</strong> Skill Course <strong>in</strong> Jan 2013 at Dharwad.<br />

An excellent surgeon is born out of a sound knowledge <strong>and</strong><br />

practice of basic surgical skills. These skills are not specifically<br />

covered/ adequately stressed <strong>in</strong> detail dur<strong>in</strong>g our foundation/ core<br />

specialty tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. Hence we always felt a need for such a course for all<br />

our postgraduates. <strong>RCOG</strong> BPS Course is very popular <strong>in</strong> the UK <strong>and</strong><br />

worldwide <strong>and</strong> RGUHS is recently th<strong>in</strong>k<strong>in</strong>g of mak<strong>in</strong>g such a course<br />

m<strong>and</strong>atory for completion of post-graduates <strong>in</strong> all surgical branches.<br />

This course has been designed to <strong>in</strong>troduce surgical tra<strong>in</strong>ees to safe<br />

<strong>and</strong> essential basic technical skills required of a surgeon <strong>in</strong>still<strong>in</strong>g<br />

good practice at the early stages of tra<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g. Aim of the course is to give<br />

tra<strong>in</strong>ees a firm foundation for a career <strong>in</strong> <strong>Obstetrics</strong> & <strong>Gynaecology</strong>.<br />
