CARBODAN is a systemic carbamate insecticide/nematicide, effective against a wide 

Range of insect pest on all major agricultural crops. 

CARBODAN formulations have demonstrated effective pest control against approximately 

300 pests on more than 40 drops all over the world. 

CARBODAN insecticide/nematicide provides effective plant protection both by contact and 

By systemic action. When applied to the soil, CARBODAN is absorbed by the plant roots 

and moves systemically via the vascular system, controllong root feeding as well as foliar 

pests. Foliar applications control insects through direct contact and ingestion of treated plant 

parts. 

When used as directed, CARBODAN is safe due to its low dermal toxicity. 

CARBODAN is rapidly metabolized and excreted by animals. All metabolites of carbofuran 

are less toxic than corbofuran itself. Neither carbofuran not any of its metabolites have 

potential for bioaccumulation or biomagnification. Its half life in the soil varies from 2 – 5 

weeks during the growing season. 

CARBODAN is compatible in combination with commonly used pesticides and fertilizers, 

both for soil and foliar application.

RATES OF APPLICATION 

Citrus 

Against rust mite, cutworm, thrips, white fly: 1-2 kg a.i. in 1000 lit water. 

Against scale: 4-6 kg a.i. per 1000 lit. water. 

Soil application against nematodes at planting time: 1,5 g a.i. to the planting hole. 

Nematodes in established plantation: 2-2,5 g a.i. per tree, minimum 2 applications per season. 

Coffee: 

Seed beds: 

5-7 g of CARBODAN 10 G per m²; incorporate 5-10 cm into soil before planting. 

0,5 g of CARBODAN 10 G per pot in nurseries. 

Established plantings: 

15-20 g of CARBODAN 10 G per plant; 2 applications annually. 

Against foliar insects: 

15-20 g of CARBODAN 10 G to be put into trench around the drip line. 

Corn and Sorghum 

Planting treatment: 

- Foliar insects – mechanical sowing: 

10 g of CARBODAN 10 G per 10 m of row. 

- Nematodes:

- Hand Sowing:

Side dressing:

Rice 

Seed soak – 40-45 kg rice seeds (for 1 ha) in 

0,5-1 kg of CARBODAN 5 G in sufficient water or 24 h. 

Seed be treatment - broadcast: 

1 kg of CARBODAN 3G for 100-150 m² of seed bed 8-10 days after sowing. 

Seedling Root soak: 

3-6 kg a.i. of CARBODAN 3 G in sufficient water to cover the roots for 24 h prior to 

transplantation 

Field application: 

20-30 kg/ha of CARBODAN 3 G to be broadcasted evenly over the rice paddy. 

Second application 30-34 days after first application. Further applications are necessary 

every 20-30 days. 

At least two applications are recommended. If only one application will be made, a rate of 30- 

40 kg/ha of CARBODAN 3 G is recommended. 

If seeds are drilled, use 1 kg a.i./ha of CARBODAN 5G in the furrow at planting.

For nematodes, a slightly higher rate is recommended: 

30-40 g of CARBODAN 5G per 10 m of row. 

One application of CARBODAN should provide seasonal control of all major soil pests and 

a 30-45 days control of foliar feeding insects. 

COMPATIBILITY 

CARBODAN formulations are generally compatible with most commonly used insecticides, 

fungicides, herbicides and liquid fertilizers. However, they should not be mixed with alkaline 

products. 

Do not use Propanil herbicide 21 days from application. 

PHYTOTOXICITY 

No phytotoxic effects have been observed on the above mentioned crops, when use according 

to recommendations.
