Initial and Final “Th” Sort<br />
1. Turn all of <strong>th</strong>e cards word-side up in a pile.<br />
2. Read <strong>th</strong>e word cards quietly to yourself.<br />
3. After reading each one, turn it over and look at <strong>th</strong>e picture.<br />
4. If you read <strong>th</strong>e correct word, put <strong>th</strong>e card in <strong>th</strong>e Read<br />
Correctly section. If you did not read it correctly, put it in<br />
<strong>th</strong>e Read Incorrectly section.<br />
5. Re-read all of <strong>th</strong>e words in <strong>th</strong>e incorrect pile until you can read<br />
<strong>th</strong>em all.<br />
6. Make a chart in your learning log like <strong>th</strong>is:<br />
Initial (Beginning) Th Sound Final (Ending) Th Sound<br />
Example: <strong>th</strong>anks<br />
Example: ba<strong>th</strong><br />
7. Copy each word from <strong>th</strong>e cards onto <strong>th</strong>e correct side of <strong>th</strong>e<br />
chart.
