Medray Imaging Systems has long been associated with 

the x-ray industry in Ireland, over 35 years to be precise. 

Based in Baldonnell, Dublin 22 we have spent the past 

ten years developing and marketing a huge portfolio of 

x-ray accessories. In this penultimate issue in a suite of 

six catalogues, we outline to you the x-ray accessories 

offered from our worldwide business partners. 

Since 2001 when we first promoted the idea of a ‘One Stop 

Shop’ for Radiology departments, this concept now applies 

to other x-ray sectors like, Dental, NDT, Chiropractic and 

Veterinary clinics. In fulfilling our commitment to you,

have gone to California for the worlds lightest lead-free

Dryview Laser Imaging Film 3.0 

KODAK DRYVIEW Laser Imaging Film 3.0 is formulated 

specifically for KODAK DRYVIEW laser imagers and renders even 

higher quality images than current DRYVIEW laser imaging film. 

Producing superb images with lower noise, better density 

uniformity, and greater visibility of subtle detail to enhance your 

diagnostic confidence, DICOM compliant DRYVIEW Film can be 

used with all DRYVIEW Imagers, has a long shelf life, quick 

roomlight loading, and a large selection of film sizes. 

RP X-OMAT LO Fixer and Replenisher 

Versatile Diagnostic Film Fixer Features Low Odor and High 

Performance, KODAK RP X-OMAT LO fixer and replenisher is 

formulated to enhance your working environment, image quality, 

and bottom line. Suitable for standard, rapid, extended, and 

manual processing, this versatile fixer is recommended for all 

KODAK diagnostic films, and other manufacturers' films. 

Reduced odor, replenishment and environmental impact are 

among its perks. 

Dryview Mammography Film 

KODAK DRYVIEW mammography laser imaging film is optimized for 

mammography applications, producing particularly great quality 

images with the KODAK DRYVIEW 8900 Laser Imager with 

Mammography Upgrade. It is Carestream Health, Inc.’s 

groundbreaking dry laser film for digital mammography. It has high 

maximum density, so subtle image shading remains crystal clear with 

lifetime archivability. DRYVIEW Mammography Laser Imaging Film 

enables true-size film imaging. Daylight packaging provides greater 

ease of use. 

X-OMAT EX II Developer and Replenisher 

KODAK X-OMAT EX II developer and replenisher yields superb 

image quality on the viewbox and helps users comply with even 

the most stringent environmental regulations. Highly 

recommended for processing KODAK MIN-R EV, KODAK MIN-R 

2000, KODAK MIN-R 2000 and KODAK MIN-R L mammography 

films. Also has excellent results with all KODAK general 

radiography films. 


CP-BU Blue/ CP-G Plus Green Film 

CP-BU is a NEW high-speed, medium to high contrast blue 

sensitive x-ray film that has been designed for use in general 

radiology in combination with blue-emitting rare earth and 

calcium tungstate intensifying screens. Green-sensitive universal 

x-ray film CP-G Plus is a general x-ray film designed for use with 

green emitting intensifying screens. The system speed of this film 

has been adapted for specific applications, according to the 

international guidelines. 

Drystar DT2B 

Drystar DT2B is Agfa’s second generation direct digital greyscale 

medium. For Drystar 5000 series imagers, producing premium 

quality hardcopies. High quality higher throughput with Agfa’s 

5000 series imagers. Drystar DT2B is the result of seven years of 

experience with Direct Digital printing. It is designed to produce 

the very highest diagnostic quality grayscale hardcopies with 

Drystar 5000 series imagers. Drystar DT2B features high Dmax 

and contrast, making it virtually indistinguishable from wet laser 

film while offering all the advantages of the dry technology: no 

wet processing, no darkroom and no chemicals. 

G134i Universal Developer 

G134i is a three-part developer that is Agfa’s standard 

universal developer for automatic processing in 

conventional systems. G134i yields both outstanding 

sensitometric and physical properties. Depending on 

the film type used and the throughput - average 

processed square metres per day - replenishment may 

vary from 300 to 600 ml / m. 

G334 Universal Fixer 

Agfa’s two-part fixer, G334, excels by a lower emission 

of process-specific odours. This has been achieved by 

reducing the emission of both acetic acid and sulphur 

dioxide. The power and the accuracy of the fixer have 

not diminished and you will not, therefore, need to 

increase the replenishment rates of the processor. 

G334(i) is suitable for use in automatic processors and 

will allow you to process a wide variety of x-ray films 

such as CURIX, SCOPIX and MAMORAY films. G334 

fixer has been designed to be used in combination with 

G134i developer.

Duplicating Plus Film 

Duplicating Plus film is a medical copy film for standard x-ray 

processing applications. Designed for handling under normal 

medical red safelight conditions, its capacity for exposure with 

printers using both 360 nm UV-BLB (Blacklight Blue) bulbs and 

white light ensures only one film is needed for all images. 

Duplicating Plus film copies enable patients, general practitioners 

and members of both clinical and surgical teams to review 

identical information, whether they are together on-site or at 

different locations. 

HDR-C Plus Mamoray Film 

HDR-C Plus Mamoray film is a single-sided orthochromatic 

mammography film that is part of the Agfa HealthCare film /screen 

system for mammography. The film uses both Split Emulsion Layer 

(S.E.L.) and the Cubic Crystal technologies. Agfa’s Split Emulsion 

Layer technology provides the Mamoray HDR-C Plus film with three 

emulsion layers on one side of the film. A particular strong point is 

the system’s high dynamic range. Equally, the system provides 

excellent visualisation of details which are further enhanced by the 

masking effect of high maximum density in the non-image area 

adjacent to the skin-line.

X-Rite Sensitometer 396 

Small and convenient, the 396 Dual-Colour Sensitometer provides 

single-sided exposures and produces repeatable 21 step 

exposures on film. 

Set the battery operated 396 to the proper exposure, place the 

film inside, then firmly press down on the cover. When you hear 

the beep, the exposure is complete. Designed and manufactured 

to comply with the calibration requirements described in DIN V 

6868-55 carrying case.

Performance features 

X-Rite Sensitometer 396 

The 301 Densitometer provides highly repeatable and accurate 

measurements of black and white film densities up to 5.0 D-far 

more subtle than can be seen by the naked eye. An optional 

RS232 output allows you to connect to a digital printer or 

computer. 

Operation is as simple as “push and read”. The large LED 

numerals can be read easily in bright or dim light. Internal 

memory and the null button allow the operator to make 

comparative density measurements across a piece of film.

These compact shields ensure maximum dose reduction to the eyes by 

the use of high-quality lead glass, with a lead equivalency of 1.5mm Pb. 

The windows can turn horizontally and vertically until the ideal angle is 

obtained for protection. This also helps eliminate reflections from lights 

or other equipment and ensures a clear view of the patient. 

• A 166cm reach suspension arm holds the shield at the correct height 

without drifting, but allows it to move freely over a wide area 

• Shields may be covered with sterile transparent covers (not provided) 

This ergonomically designed shield can be moved partially over a patient and adjusted 

to provide maximum protection to the practitioner’s eyes and upper body. 

• A 166cm reach suspension arm allows the shield to be positioned over a wide area 

or instantly moved for emergency patient access

partially over the patient for effective protection against scatter 

radiation to the eyes and upper body. The wide format provides 

a safe zone for the practitioner and for personnel assisting close 

by. The window can be turned to the most convenient angle or 

removed immediately for emergency access to the patient. A 166 

cm reach suspension arm enables the shield to descend to the 

tableside and move freely within the working area.

Superior design and construction make this shield 

ideal for use in confined areas close to the 

tableside. 

• Hand controls, attached to the optional 

accessory rail, allow personnel to operate 

within a safe zone created by the shield 

• The 70cm wide lead acrylic window can be 

raised to a height of 190cm, for complete 

protection, or lowered to 115cm for access to 

the patient

Hand controls are shown attached to the optional

Model 326/05 Height Adjustable Over-Table Shield 

A dramatic reduction in radiation exposure to the whole body can be 

achieved when this shield is properly utilised. It creates an extensive safety 

zone within which the practitioner can work. The wide shadow cast by the 

shield also provides protection to assisting personnel. 

• The counterbalanced lead acrylic window may be positioned over the 

recumbent patient and height adjusted to suit the table 

• The 50 x 116cm window is supported at one end by a stand which is 

shaped to provide space for below table movements of C-arm mounted 

x-ray tubes 

• The 80cm high curtains that hang from the window are adjustable for 

width from 45cm to 80cm. When extended to the tableside they provide 

maximum protection from scatter radiation 

• Lead equivalent: 0.5mm Pb throughout.

This shield, model 314/05-1 is suitable for patient or practitioner. A 

flexible 60cm high x 70cm wide protective curtain is height 

adjustable from 85 to 120cm by virtue of a spring assisted 

telescopic column. Lead equivalent: 0.5mm Pb.

Table mounted shields substantially reduce exposure to secondary radiation. The upper parts 

protect against scatter emanating from the patient’s body, while the lower portions protect against 

scatter from sources beneath the patient. 

Kenex Table Mounted Lower Body Shield 

Model 312/F-001 

Kenex Model 311/F-001 

All models slide easily onto 25mm high table accessory rails. They 

include a flexible 70cm high 0.5mm lead equivalent curtain 

suspended from a pivotal arm, which may be swivelled into any 

working position. Models with double-jointed arms enable the 

curtain to move laterally towards the patient and parallel with the 

side of a shaped table. A 0.5mm lead equivalent flexible top extends 

22cm above the table. To aid patient transfer this can be removed, 

or in the case of model 312/F-001, folded down. The shields can be 

simply converted for use on either side of the table with the pivotal 

arm always facing towards the head end. If necessary two shields can 

be fitted to protect personnel on both sides of the table. 

Model 312/F-001 Table Mounted Lower Body 

Shield 

For patient access and transfer the 50cm wide protective curtain can 

be folded down or returned to the working position in one easy 

step. The 90cm wide protective curtain is suspended from a doublejointed 

pivotal arm. Only a narrow 23cm wide section is fixed whilst 

the remaining 67cm wide portion can be positioned close to the 

patient, as shown, or swivelled up to 90 degrees away from the 

tableside. 

Model 311/DS-005 Table Mounted Lower 

Body Shield 

This shield has a flexible lower protective curtain consisting of 

several overlapping sections, with a total width of 102cm. The 

upper 60cm wide section is instantly removable and can be 

replaced in seconds. The double jointed arm enables the 

protective curtain to be placed next to the patient, or swivel away 

from the tableside to form a 60cm or 77cm wide side wing.

Made from 0.25, 0.50, 1.00, 2.00 or 2.50mm Pb rubber with a coated white finish. Each slat is 13cm wide and can swivel and / or draw 

- just like office blinds. Ideal for covering windows / doors or for making protective partitions between beds. Ceiling or wall suspended, 

manual operation. Made to Order. 

Please Note: 

Vertical Blinds 

1. Do not expect curtains (apart from 0.12 and 0.25 Pb) to behave or handle like the domestic version! Due to their weight they 

do require some effort to move. They require approx 30 cms per drape storage area. 

2. Please consult with your RPA and ALL room users before ordering, as although an initial survey may suggest 1.00mm is 

required it is often the case that a small change in Protocol can result in 0.25mm being sufficient. The resultant reduction in 

weight means a longer curtain life, happier users and no need for expensive fixing systems. 

Fixed Screens - Custom Made 

Screens of other sizes can be made to order. Shelves, baskets and cut-outs as required.

• Aluminium trim is now standard but Ash can still be supplied if required to match planned decor.

ProtecX Essential Apron has been designed to simply slip on 

and fasten with an easy release buckle on the left shoulder 

and a variety of fastenings at the side / back.Designed to suit 

departments with many lead apron users and with cost in 

mind. Fastenings include, velcro at both sides, elastic belt 

which fastens with velcro at the back or webbing belt which 

fastens and adjusts with a side release buckle.

The best advice and protection available is, of course, to stay out of the 

room. However, if this is not possible, we do offer two solutions: 

Option 1: 

Is to use one of our Lower Back Shields, under or over your existing apron, 

changing to a larger size if necessary, as your “bump” grows. 

Option 2: 

Is our Maternity Apron which is a Shoulder Clip style 0.50 front / 0.25 back, 

belt fastening, with an enlarged front panel which overlaps the rear. As you 

expand, you ‘let out' the apron. Sizing is as per normal (pre-pregnancy). Add 

“Maternity” to the order code.

Possibly the most comfortable apron available. Excellent body hugging design 

transfers weight from shoulders to hips and gives support with freedom of movement. 

To adjust simply pull the elasticated Velcro side flaps to the most comfortable position 

and secure in place. The enlarged 0.25mm lead equivalent area at the back gives 

balance and protection.

This is 4 ply to provide maximum protection to breast tissue while 

preventing artefact in the diagnostic portion of the thoracic CT 

image. The brassiere consists of two large panels, one for each 

breast, connected and secured by reinforced velcro straps. Each 

panel is specially designed to form fit the curvatures of the supine 

body regardless of the patient’s size, providing maximum 

protection to the medial upper breast, the armpit and other 

radiosensitive areas. The breast shield allows approximately a 50% 

dose saving to the breast.

Thyroid Sheild 

Designed to provide maximum protection to the radiosensitive 

thyroid gland. To ensure proper positioning, a curved notch in 

the centre of the shield is placed at the top of the sternum. An 

adhesive on the back of the shield holds the shield firm as the 

patient breathes and swallows. Lateral bow ties are also attached 

to the interior flaps of the shield to protect patients with larger 

necks or larger thyroid glands that extend behind the clavicle or 

sternum. This shield, when used for the soft tissues of the neck, 

is cut to a thickness of 4 plys, allowing a 60% dose saving to the

Easily wiped clean. Coating is relatively easy to damage (we’re 

just being honest!) and slightly radiopaque. For general 

radiography or any other medical imaging, care should be taken 

where the pad is positioned between the patient and film at 

exposure, particularly when edge-on to the beam and at lower 

kVs. Add ‘C’ to code if you require your Positional Aids to be 

coated.

Standard Polyfoam 

Functionally radiolucent and generally artefact-free. It provides a 

“non-slip” surface. Combustion Modified Highly Resilient (CMHR) 

as approved by Fire Officers. Standard foam has a firmness rating 

of 30 - Grey. Firmer foam is 40 - 45 rating - Mid-Blue. Softer foam 

is 20 - 24 rating - White. Add “S”. Uncoated foam will absorb 

bodily fluids - hence risk of cross-infection. If in any doubt DO 

NOT RE-USE, dispose of as Clinical Waste.

Coated Foam 

Sewn covers utilise our waterproof polyester / vinyl (Pv) apron 

cover material. Larger shapes are normally zipped for easy 

removal. Choice of colours. Easily wiped clean. Seams give a 

degree of water resistance and will not normally show. Only noncontoured 

pads can be covered. Anti-static black rubber (latexfree) 

covers available, although the edges of these covers may 

show on certain views.

Pedia - Poser Chair 

The Pedia-Poser provides fast, gentle, and secure immobilization 

of infants through 4-year olds for x-ray imaging. The patient is 

secured only once: the chair rotates, quickly positioning for 

different views. This simple, reliable product is the child-friendly 

solution for paediatric positioning. 

For Infants: 

The infant saddle seat is used for infants through about 8 month 

olds. Soft stretchy velcro straps are used to secure the arms in the 

desired pose. The chin strap is also used to support the head and 

neck.

A state-of-the-art monitoring system for MRI examinations 

The new Maglife Serenity guarantees highest ECG quality during 

magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning – even under
