Located on Sickle Lake,<br />
approximately 500 miles north of Winnipeg,<br />
Manitoba, <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> is one of those<br />
places that makes up the “final frontier” of<br />
Canadian fishing. Teeming with giant northern<br />
<strong>pike</strong>, walleye and lake trout, Sickle is renowned<br />
for its trophy fishery.<br />
In addition to Sickle Lake, <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> offers<br />
its guests the exclusive opportunity to fish on<br />
Chicken , Willis, Ghost and Black Trout Lakes.<br />
We are the only lodge on Sickle Lake and also<br />
the only lodge with access to these other lakes.<br />
Having always practised catch-and-release, we<br />
have successfully maintained a “world-class”<br />
fishery with <strong>pike</strong> in the 40”- 55” range, and<br />
walleyes in 20”- 30” range. The Sickle Lake<br />
area also offers premium black bear hunting.<br />
<strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> is an American-Plan<br />
fishing lodge offering “world class” angling<br />
opportunities. In addition to the American-<br />
Plan packages, there are also two outposts to<br />
choose from. Keewatin Point outpost, located<br />
at the convergence of the Keewatin River and<br />
Sickle Lake, and Last Hope outpost on the<br />
northeast shore of Last Hope Lake.<br />

Lodging<br />
<strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> limits itself to 18 guests at<br />
any one time which provides a laid back relaxed<br />
atmosphere, ensuring our guests receive personal<br />
attention. This limited guest capacity preserves the<br />
excellent quality of the fishery on our lakes.<br />
Each cabin is equipped with a refrigerator, hot and<br />
cold running water, three piece bathroom with large<br />
shower stall, and cozy living areas with Franklin<br />
fireplaces.<br />
There are five private guest cabins ranging in size<br />
from two bedroom cabins ac<strong>com</strong>modating from 2 to<br />
4 guests; to one spacious three bedroom cabin with<br />
two bathrooms ac<strong>com</strong>modating up to six guests.<br />
The guest cabins have all been <strong>com</strong>pletely<br />
renovated between the spring of 2002 and 2004.<br />
The cabins feature natural wood finished interiors<br />
and fireplaces giving you superior ac<strong>com</strong>modations<br />
in a wilderness setting.<br />
Every cabin overlooks the beautiful white sand<br />
beach that is 700 yards long, where you can spend<br />
hours gazing at the loons floating upon the deep<br />
blue water.<br />

Fishing<br />
<strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> management area offers exclusive<br />
fishing rights to a zone of approximately 500 square<br />
miles.<br />
Fishing at <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> is world class fishing<br />
without the added expense of <strong>fly</strong>-out once you have<br />
arrived.<br />
For an exciting challenge, a short portage will take you<br />
into Black Trout Lake. These unique Black Lake Trout<br />
range from 6 to 8 pounds and provide the angler with<br />
a day full of fun!<br />
There are boat and motor caches on each lake for your<br />
use. The added advantage of fishing in smaller lakes<br />
is that you are able to get out even when weather<br />
conditions are unfavorable. All of our lakes are<br />
abundant with whitefish.<br />
Fishing guides are included for guests at the main<br />
lodge. Guides can be hired on a daily basis for outpost<br />
guests subject to availability.<br />

Bear Hunting<br />
<strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> & Outposts has<br />
the advantage of being totally remote.<br />
The closest settlement is the town of<br />
Lynn Lake, MB which is located 30 miles<br />
northwest of <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong>.<br />
Access to <strong>Golden</strong> <strong>Eagle</strong> <strong>Lodge</strong> and our<br />
outpost camps is only via float plane, so<br />
our population of black bears has not been<br />
exposed to any outside hunting pressure.<br />
You will find adjustable height tree stands<br />
with swivel seats and a rifle rest. We utilize<br />
digital trail cameras to document time<br />
bears visit baits, size of bears and color<br />
phase (approximately 30% color phase<br />
in our area) in order to place hunters in<br />
stands that will produce large bears.<br />

outpost camps fit the bill.<br />
These spacious cabins ac<strong>com</strong>modate up to 8<br />
guests. Far from roughing it, these cabins are<br />
equipped with twin beds, propane lights and<br />
appliances, Franklin wood stove, gravity-fed<br />
water system, a bathroom with shower and<br />
sink, large living room and kitchen, large deck<br />
and pro-pane BBQ, boats motors and gas.<br />
