As some of the ranges are hand forged, sizes etc can vary between ranges so we have provided some
information to help with your purchase. However if you are unsure about anything at all we are
always happy to answer your enquiry in person. If we can’t provide the answer straight away we will get back
to you with the technical advice you need.
WINDOW CATCHES
Are available with either a mortice or hook plate:
• If your catch closes into the frame or wall you need a mortice plate.
• If the catch closes to the front of the frame you need a hook plate.
Some catches are universal, these can be fitted to either side of the window as the handle swivels 180
degrees. However where the catch is handed you need to establish which hand you need.
• A general rule of thumb is that if you use your right hand to open the catch you need a right handed catch.
(this means that the window is hinged on the right and the window catch is fitted to the left of the frame.
• Lockable catches are secured by a security allen key.
LEVER HANDLES
• All Brionne lever handles require a Heavy Sprung lock or latch, these are available in our Locks and Latches
section.
• Lock Centre Measurements ~ the UK standard lock centre is 57mm, this is from the centre of the key hole
circle to the centre of the lever handle spindle.
• Please be aware of the different versions available when ordering:
• Latch… Lock…Euro Profile…Privacy / Bathroom
• All lever handle sets are supplied with fixing screws
• Through bolts are supplied for 48mm doors, however, longer bolts are available on request.
SUFFOLK LATCHES
• 8” or 10” relates to the length from the top of the handle to the bottom, including the arrow/bean.
• If you need extra privacy, order a lock pin set which is a basic mechanism to prevent the latch bar moving. If
this is not suitable, a simple fishtail bolt may help.
HINGES
• Priced and sold in pairs unless otherwise stated
The sizes vary between the ranges – the following may help.
Rustics ~ 18” refers to the actual size on the door
Original Iron ~ 18” refers to the overall length of the hinge
Pintle hinges for gates etc. Please supply the following measurements/information,
• Is the gate set back from the face of the post?
• Size of post
• Length of hinges required
• Weight of gates/door
Finishes
Technical Information
• Beeswax finish is generally suitable for indoor use only as without regular maintenance the products will
rust.
Powder coating/painting is suitable for any outdoor uses as they will withstand the elements.
