Estrella Morente: guest artist<br />
Estrella Morente is possibly best known to international<br />
audiences for being the voice behind Penelope Cruz’s<br />
performance of the song Volver in Pedro Almodóvar’s film of<br />
the same name. Born in Granada in 1980 to flamenco star<br />
Enrique Morente and dancer Aurora Carbonel, Estrella has<br />
been performing professionally since childhood. She worked<br />
closely with her father on her debut album Mi Cante y un<br />
Poema (My Songs and a Poem), which was later launched<br />
worldwide on Peter Gabriel’s Real World label. She followed<br />
this with Calle del Aire (2001), and Mujeres (Women, 2006),<br />
which was nominated for a Latin Grammy.
