George Brant<br />
Playwright, The Mourners’ Bench<br />
George Brant’s scripts have been produced<br />
and developed <strong>in</strong>ternationally <strong>by</strong> Tr<strong>in</strong>ity<br />
<strong>Repertory</strong> <strong>Company</strong>, Cleveland Play<br />
House, the Playwrights Foundation, the<br />
Playwrights’ Center, the Drama League,<br />
and Premiere Stages, among others. His<br />
script Elephant’s Graveyard was awarded<br />
the Kennedy Center’s David Cohen National<br />
Playwrit<strong>in</strong>g Award and the Keene Prize<br />
for Literature. He has received writ<strong>in</strong>g<br />
fellowships from the MacDowell Colony<br />
and the Michener Center for Writers, as<br />
well as commissions from Dobama Theatre<br />
and Theatre 4. His work is published<br />
<strong>by</strong> Samuel French, Smith & Kraus, and<br />
Broadway Play Publish<strong>in</strong>g. Mr. Brant<br />
wishes to acknowledge that The Mourners’<br />

Deborah Salem Smith<br />
Playwright, Love Alone<br />
Deborah Salem Smith is Tr<strong>in</strong>ity Rep’s playwright-<strong>in</strong>-residence.<br />
Love Alone received an<br />
Honorable Mention <strong>by</strong> the Jane Chambers<br />
Playwrit<strong>in</strong>g Award. Her previous honors<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude an Emerg<strong>in</strong>g American Artist<br />
Fulbright for playwrit<strong>in</strong>g, where she<br />
worked with the Abbey Theatre, Ireland’s<br />
national theater. Her work has been recognized<br />
<strong>by</strong> a National Mellon Fellowship <strong>in</strong><br />
the Humanities, a MacDowell Fellowship,<br />
a Col<strong>by</strong> Fellowship, a Major Hopwood<br />
Award, as well as writ<strong>in</strong>g and visual arts<br />
prizes from the University of Michigan<br />
and Pr<strong>in</strong>ceton University. Her other plays<br />
<strong>in</strong>clude Boots on the Ground, Some Th<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
