Homeland Security Perspectives: Building Cyber Resilience<br />

Bradford Wilkie - Cybersecurity Advisor, Mid-Atlantic Region; US DHS<br />

The Cyber Security Advisor program is part of the Department of Homeland<br />

Security’s outreach and awareness mission for the protection of Critical<br />

<strong>Infrastructure</strong> / Key Resource (CIKR) communities and state, local, territorial, and<br />

tribal governments. The primary mission of the CSA program is “To provide<br />

direct coordination, outreach, and regional support and assistance in the protection<br />

of cyber components essential to the Nation’s CIKR.” In this presentation,<br />

Bradford Willke, the CSA for the Mid-Atlantic region, will provide an overview of<br />

essential cyber security capabilities, challenges, and requirements for critical<br />

infrastructure operators.<br />

In October, 2011, ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) and SHRM (Society for<br />

Human Resource Management) published national guidelines for workplace violence<br />

prevention programs. These guidelines will be the standard by which all organizational<br />

violence prevention programs will be measured. This session will present an overview of the<br />

key elements of these guidelines and the impact they will have on all organizations in both<br />

public and private sectors. Mr. Prince will present steps every company must take to not only<br />

insure compliance, but also to adopt best practices for reducing the potential for violence and<br />

minimize liability exposure. This session is guaranteed to be lively, meaningful and relevant.<br />
