Downer Rail and EMD are the only proven successful supplier of Pilbaraspec AC traction locomotives specifically designed to service the harsh Iron Ore mining operations in Western Australia’s north west region. The SD70ACe/LCi design has features such as dual air conditioning as well as a 1,000,000 pounds buff-load underframe when compared with a standard SD70ACe locomotive – these features, among a number of others, result in the locomotive delivering exemplary performance for our customers in the Pilbara. Our customers have access to a comprehensive offering of rolling stock spares with more than 8,000 line items held in stock.
