CONDITIONS OF SALE<br />

1. All potential purchasers must report to the mart office on arrival.<br />

2. <strong>The</strong> Sale will be under the auspices of the <strong>Blackface</strong> <strong>Sheep</strong> Breeders <strong>Association</strong>.<br />

3. All sheep will be sold in Guineas and the guinea will go to the <strong>Association</strong>.<br />

4. In Lamb Females and Ewe Hoggs are eligible to be offered for sale.<br />

5. Ewe Hoggs can be sold individually or in pens of up to 10.<br />

6. All sheep, apart from Ewe Hoggs to be sold guaranteed in lamb, the purchaser has a 21 day warranty, if a breach of<br />

warrant is proved it must be accompanied by a veterinary surgeon’s certificate.<br />

7. All sheep to be sold are guaranteed correct in the mouth and udder. Any complaints must be lodged within 2 hours of<br />

the end of the Sale.<br />

8. <strong>Sheep</strong> will be sold in the order of health status in accordance with the SGHS rules.<br />

9. <strong>Sheep</strong> must be branded on the near horn with the appropriate catalogue number, which will be drawn by ballot and<br />

individually tagged in line with the current tagging and movement legislation.<br />

10. A substitute will be allowed for any sheep that is unable to come to the sale.<br />

11. Vendors will be responsible for the insurance of their stock.<br />

12. Payments shall be cash on sale; the purchaser will receive a receipted pass when he pays for his lot, which must be<br />

shown to a member of the yards staff. No lot or lots shall be removed from the premises before this.<br />

13. <strong>The</strong> purchaser will be responsible for stock at the fall of the hammer.<br />

14. <strong>The</strong> auctioneers act in all respects only as agents for the vendor and no condition or warranty is given by the<br />

auctioneers of their servants, and none shall be implied, as to title, description or the quality of any lot sold. Neither<br />

the auctioneers or their servants shall be liable to the purchaser in any respect for any defect of title, error of<br />

description or imperfection or for any announcement or statement concerning the lot offered for sale whether made<br />

orally or in writing and whether given before, during or after the auction, nor shall they incur any liability in relation to<br />

any dispute between any vendor and purchaser.<br />

15. <strong>The</strong> auctioneers shall not be liable in any way for any accident which happens to any person while on the sale<br />

premise.<br />

16. Movement regulations – Purchasers and vendors must conform to the relevant movement rules at the time of sale.<br />
