4. Clean your ball regularly during the round.
6. Leave your buggy at the side of the green, not at the front, time will be saved by not having to go back and get it.
7. Know the Rules and how to apply them. While the game of golf is not intended to be a foot race, a round should be played in a
8. Players should ensure that when dropping bags or flagstick no damage is done to the putting green and that neither they nor their caddies
damage the hole by standing close to it, or in handling the flag stick. The flagstick should be squarely and properly replaced before
leaving the green. Players should not stand in the line of their opponent's or partner's putt. If they cannot putt out, they are requested to
mark their ball.
GOLF COMPETITIONS -METHOD OF PLAY
Below is set out for the information of members the method of play adopted in relation to some of the less frequently played events.
AMBROSE
All players tee off in handicap order highest marker hitting off first. The best ball is then selected, and the other players place or drop their ball
(depending on the conditions of play which are in vogue on the day), as near as possible to the selected ball, playing still in handicap order. Upon
reaching the green the same basic procedure applies, the best ball is marked and the other players place their ball on this mark, then continue
playing in handicap order. Each player may elect to hole out without marking the second putt.
FOURSOMES AND MIXED FOURSOMES
1
9
Two players play as partners and use one ball. The players alternately strike off from the tee and thereafter strike the ball alternately during the
play at each hole. Scoring is done as for a stroke round with the deduction of half the players combined handicap from the total. If either player
incurs a penalty stroke it does not alter the rotation of play.
CANADIAN FOURSOMES
Two competitors play as partners. Each player plays 1 stroke from the tee with their own ball before choosing the ball to continue play. Each
player then plays alternate strokes until the ball is holed out.
2 STROKE CANADIAN FOURSOMES
Two competitors play as partners. Each player plays 2 strokes with their own ball before choosing the ball to play. Each player then plays
alternative strokes until the ball is holed out.
AMERICAN FOURSOMES.
Two competitors play as partners. Each player plays their own ball from the tee. The next stroke is played with their partner’s ball before
choosing the ball to continue play. Then each player plays alternate strokes until the ball is holed out.
FOUR-BALL BEST-BALL (4 B.B.B.)
Four-ball Stroke Competitions must not be played with an individual competition in conjunction. (Rule 31)
Note: Stableford and par are forms of stroke play
TWO-BALL BEST-BALL (2 B.B.B.) & 2 PERSON AGGREGATE.
2
0
These two-ball events may be played with an individual competition in conjunction provided that:
1. Each players score is recorded on an individual card.
2. There must be NO collusion between members of the team. This means; no exchanging of advice re. Club selection, line of play and no
putting out of turn to indicate the line to the hole, etc..
3. Aggregate and 2 BBB scores in conjunction events will be determined by computer at the end of play
DAVE STRETTON'S PRO PIN 13 TH HOLE
NEAREST THE PIN
Dave's Pro Pin played every Saturday at a cost of $1 per player. (Optional)
All proceeds as prize voucher to Dave's Golf Shop to the nearest the pin winner. Medal rounds in two (2) grades.
MOBILE PHONES
Mobile phones are not to be used on the golf course to receive calls. Outward calls may be made in an emergency. Penalty for the use of a
mobile phone will be loss of hole in match-play and 2 strokes in stroke play. In certain cases an exemption to this rule may be granted by the
committee on receipt of a written application.
GOLDEN TEE’S
To allow our elderly members to continue to play and remain competitive a new concept has been proposed.
This concept allows all eligible members to play from our Forward or Golden tees (In other words a Head Start) and so remain competitive in
that respective competition.
To be eligible to play in this competition the players age and handicap combined must equal 100 or more
Trials are ongoing and will only be Stableford events at this time
