son Jase Tyler on October 14, 2011.
He was 8lbs 6oz and 20 1/2inches
long. Jase is a brother for Liam, a
grandson for Linda and Dennis
Simonar and a great grandson for
Aida West and Marjorie Simonar.
Harold Richard Dick Hotvedt
passed away on November 3, 2011 at
the age of 89. He leaves to cherish
his memory, his wife Irene and
children Sandra (Mark) Zimmer,
Ronda Fusick, and Ivel (Brenda)
Hotvedt. Internment in the Shell Lake
Cemetery
Randy Delorme passed away on
November 3, 2011 at the age of 58
years. Randy leaves to cherish his
memory his wife Lynn (nee Strom) and
their son Ryan (Marky)

to our appreciation supper. We are

A COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS
FESTIVAL
Come celebrate the season with a
Community Choir, special numbers,
skits and carols. Join in a Sing -a-
Long of traditional songs. Sunday,
December 4th, 2011 at 7:30 p.m. Shell
Lake Lions Hall . Free will offering.
All ages invited!
CHOIR VISIT
A youth choir from Leoville will be
entertaining at the Villa on Sunday,
December 11 th at 7:30 p.m. They will
be singing spiritual Christmas music
and visitors are welcome.
MONT NEBO EVANGELICAL
FREE CHURCH
Peace on Earth a Christmas drama
will be presented on Friday,
December 16 at 7:30 at the Mon Nebo
Evangelical Free Church. Everyone
welcome.
SANTA SHUFFLE
On December 11 at 1 p.m at Prairie
Endeavor Spiritwood is boasting
about it s first Santa Shuffle - you can
come out and walk, run, cross-coun-
try ski or snow shoe this 3-5 K route.
Bring your kids, and pull them in a
toboggan (if necessary).....it could be
a new family tradition to add to the
season. Bring your santa hat and your
jingle bells and join with us for a fun
and exciting day - let us share and
celebrate our many blessings!
The event is open and free to
everyone; we are suggesting a
non- perishable $10.00 donation
to go towards Christmas hampers for
folks in our community. Food dona-
tion drop off depots will be set up at
Prairie Community Endeavors and
the Spiritwood Health Complex.
Refreshments will be available after
after the event at Prairie Endeavors.
If you would prefer to donate cash,
that would be acceptable. Personal
and business cheques will also be
accepted as a donation please make
them payable to V & B Hauling and
Hotshot Services, as they will be
making the deliveries of the hampers.
All funds collected will be used to
purchase turkeys, hams, potatoes
and things to add to the hampers.
Watch for posters in your
community. Whatever the day
brings - we ll meet you there!

CHRISTMAS SOCIAL
Everyone is invited to attend the
Christmas Social to be held on
Saturday, December 10th in the Lions
Community Hall starting at 7 PM. The
events of the evening include cash
bar, door prizes, appetizers and
snacks, musical entertainment and
dancing, and fun and games for all
ages. Bring your entire family for a
chance to socialize and celebrate the
holiday season. Admission is $10 per
person or $25 for an immediate family
group. This event is sponsored by
the Shell Lake Events committee and
the Little Wonders Preschool
Playhouse. Hope to see you all

COMITTEE
Well it s beginning to look a lot like
Christmas around town with all the
beautiful Christmas lights! Just a
reminder to everyone that our 2nd
Annual Christmas Tree Light-Up is
this Saturday, Dec.3 at 6:30 p.m. at
the end of Main Street. To those who
are attending, we re asking that you
bring with you a flashlight (if you
have one). Since the lighting
situation is not that great in that area
of town we thought it might help in
being able to read the song lyrics of
the Christmas carols we will be
singing. Hope to see you all there!!

We will not be having a birthday

There will be an Open House at
the Library on Tuesday, December
20th to celebrate 50 years of library
service for Shell Lake. Come in, have
coffee and cake, get a library card if
you don t have one yet. The draw
for the Christmas basket will be made
as well that day. Just a reminder
Library hours in 2012 will be only on
Tuesdays 9:30 a.m to 4 p.m.

Shell Lake Lions Club will be
hosting a special Turkey Bingo
Wednesday, December 14th. Come
out for a visit and have some fun
and go home with your Christmas

I have one item of business that
has to do with snow removal. After
a fresh snowfall please do not
park overnight on main streets
because Dan likes to get out early
before traffic and it works a lot
better if he doesn t have to go
around parked vechiles.
Our administrator, Tara attended a
workshop in P.A on November 17
concerning by-laws and policy mak-
ing. I attended a workshop on
November 22 regarding strategic and
financial planning. We both felt the
workshops were worthwhile.
As most of you are already aware
there are now two doctors living in
Spiritwood and will be opening their
practices very soon. We can be very
appreciative for all the hard work done
by the Northern Lakes Health
Committee in achieving this victory.
Welcome to Drs.Senzani and
McSherry and to their wives.We hope
you love your new home among us.
If the lovely weather hasn t put you
in a cheerful Christmas mood, take a
drive up the hill to the Lois and Keith
Simonar yard and you will be
guaranteed to be enlightened .
What a great gift to the community.
