The Byrds Collective
THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE, a five-man band of veteran Los Angeles-area
musicians and singers, share a collective passion for the music of The
Byrds, the first and greatest folk-rock group of the 1960s and the originator
of the "L.A. Sound" that dominated popular music for decades.
THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE takes you back to L.A.'s "hip" music scene of
Ciro's, The Troubadour and The Whisky A Go Go in the 1960's, when folk
rock emerged from the shadows of the Beatles and other "British Invasion"
groups. The five members of The Byrds Collective reproduce the exciting
sounds of The Byrds between 1965 and 1970. From the opening chords of
"Mr. Tambourine Man," you'll swear that Roger Mcguinn, David Crosby,
Gene Clarke, Chris Hillman and Michael Clark have reunited for one more
concert. THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE faithfully recreates The Byrds' unique
sound, right down to the vintage Rickenbacker 12 string the group made
so popular. Everything is as it was–the harmonies, the "jingle-jangle"
guitars, the driving bass and the steady beat of the drums. No
synthesizers and no tape loops are used. It's just about the music and how
it was made back in 1965. Come share the history and music of The
Byrds, performed by THE BYRDS COLLECTIVE.

Whether it was their folk, country or psychedelic rock, many of us can claim a
connection to The Byrds. The group's lyrics linger on our lips; the grooves ring
out as muzak in the elevator; their songs are used in the background of films
and TV shows. When we hear the band's music, we are instantly back to the
time and the place where we first heard these timeless tunes. On Tuesday,
you can experience the band live in the form of a tribute band, The Byrds
Collective, at the Coffee Gallery Backstage.
Another fantastic performance!
Another fantastic performance last evening in Long Beach by The Byrds
Collective !!
And the Byrds Collective did a string of several Gene Clark numbers mid way
through their first set, which was appreciated very much by the audience and
was a fitting tribute to a very talented member of the original Byrds !!!
Alot of people missed a great show. We have been to the Neil Young and U2
concerts and so far the Byrds concert was our favorite. Their sound was spot
on. They even ventured in to Beatle songs as well as Tom Petty and the
Band. We really hope they are back next year.
The Byrds Collective performance on Friday evening at the Brixton in
Redondo was a big hit. You guys sounded great and everyone in the band
seemed in a festive mood with Ken back there singing and playing with you !
The couple of Beatles songs were a treat for everyone too!
The complex vocals of the Byrds music comes through with BC's great
renditions and your music skills are top notch. Besides all that stuff, you guys
are just some of the nicest guys, friendly and sharing with everybody in the
audience. And some of us share a mutual enjoyment of Rickenbackers !
