Dear Friends,
Shalom & Shanah Tovah!
Welcome to the High Holy Days at Congregation B’nai Amoona! These Yamim Noraim (High Holy
Days) begin with our spiritually moving Selichot Service Saturday night, September 24, and
culminate with our uplifting celebration on Simchat Torah, October 21, take a great deal of
preparation and much thoughtful planning. We are especially proud of the wide range of Services
and activities available for everyone.
While Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur provide us with an opportunity for intense introspection and
heartfelt worship, there are a myriad of programs which may interest you over these Days of Awe.
Please take a few moments to read through the enclosed material as it provides a concise picture of
what is going on at Shul over these exciting weeks.
As we come together in prayer, we do so as a Mishpachah (family) – reconnecting with one another,
sharing our joys and sorrows from the past year and looking forward to the coming year. One of the
most beautiful aspects of the High Holy Days is having the opportunity to begin life anew, opening
our hearts to new friends, our minds to new ideas, and our souls to new experiences. It is in this
spirit, that we are also delighted to once again be turning to our High Holy Day Machzor (prayer
book), Mahzor Lev Shalem. We are confident that this beautiful prayer book will help deepen and
enhance our communal worship.
We are truly blessed to be able to share meaningful, inspiring and enjoyable Services with our B’nai
Amoona family during these Holy and Sacred days. We invite each of you to join us and share in
these precious moments. Let us once again, together, commit ourselves to a spirited and spiritual
High Holy Day season.
With blessings for Chayim (life), Shalom (peace), Briyut (health) and Ahavah (love) in the New Year,
