Happy New Year! As we look into this year we are excited to share
many events and programs we have at Strathcona Gardens. Every year
we try to shift, change and expand our program options for you.
The Zumba Sentao program is a first for Campbell River. This is a
modification of the ever popular and exciting Zumba dance classes.
This style of Zumba is done primarily in a chair. The music is
motivating and the movements are easy to follow. Anyone is capable of
joining into the class. We offer two in the morning and one on Monday
evenings. Two of our instructors are regular Zumba instructors and
have taken additional training to teach this program. It is so uplifting!
This class is in our Fitness Studio. If you’re in a wheelchair or stairs
are a challenge, our elevator awaits you and will lift you to the second
floor room.
Our Graypower Bootcamp classes are very popular!! They begin
January 8th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:45-8:45am. Or we
have a Saturday morning option beginning January 12th.
January 2-4 only, we are offering many of our registered programs at
15% off the brochure price. IE: Zumba Sentao, Graypower Bootcamp
and Aquatic Arthritis to name a few.
Check out the Winter brochure for more new program ideas to pass the
dull days away!

We had a very successful 2 days at the Sportsplex this year. The crafter’s
were happy and customer’s were happy also, lots of smiling faces! Thanks to
everyone who came out and gave out door prize tickets and looked after the
writing of all the many numbers on the prize board.
Every year we need to transport tables from the community Centre down to
the Sportsplex and then bring them back after the sale. This year that task
was made much easier thanks to Ron Quinton and Discover Community
Church. Ron offered the Church’s trailer to take the tables for us and he
