They are all fitted with a hardwood handle. They all come unsharpened and we do recommend
you request our sharpening service. The steel (grade 1095C) is high carbon steel,
tempered or heat treated to harden the steel so it maintains a sharp edge, will range approx.
59 to 62 on the Rockwell Black Diamond hardness testing device.
The benefits are clear, an American made tool, hand forged with high carbon tool steel,
made to last and maintains a sharp cutting edge at manufacturers closeout prices. Hurry

Which tools for which project?
Used by professional carvers around the world, these long handle tools are preferred for their
ease of use. Long enough to reach deep into a carving project., strong enough to handle two
hand carving and a strike with a mallet.
Straight and Fishtail styles are the same at the cutting edge. Some carvers prefer the weight
and maneuverability of the fishtail compared to a straight shank tool. Most carvers have some
of both styles in their tool box.
Short Bent Tools is a straight shank tool with a spoon bend at the end. These are the perfect
tool for hogging out the wood. Great for relief or hard to reach areas of your carving. Every
carver needs a few short bents in their assortment.
Long Bent Tools where the shank is curved along it’s entire length. Great for relief carving or
where you don’t want the cutting edge to dig into the wood. The tools will shave the wood
instead of digging the wood.
