worldwide, which attest to its commitment to
quality, including the American Institute of
Steel Construction (AISC), Factory Mutual
(FM), Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Metal
Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA),
US Army Corps of Engineers, and International
Conference of Building Officials (ICBO).
The company has harmonized quality control
practices with Butler Shanghai; Butler Tianjin
& Butler Guangzhou obtaining the ISO 9001-
Quality Management System Certification
respectively.
In China, Butler obtained First Class Steel
Structure Design Certification and First Class
Steel Fabrication Certification issued by
Ministry of Construction, P. R. China.
Besides, various certifications were awarded
to Butler during the past 10 years, such as
Double Excellence Enterprises, Excellent
Member of China Steel Structure Association,

MR-24 ® ROOF SYSTEM
• The first and best standing seam roof system
• A 360 degree Pittsburgh double-lock seam creates the tightest seam available
today to protect against leaks
• A factory-applied sealant inside the seam assures weathertightness in even the
most unforgiving conditions
• Exclusive roof clip allows roof movement
• Factory pre-punched panels and structural members to assure proper fit and
alignment
• High strength, substantial Butler specified fastener has twice the pullout
strength of industry standard self-drillers
• BUTLER ® LITE-PANL ® provides natural bright lighting and low maintenance,
and won't turn yellow or brittle
• Butler approved roof curb and opening is fully engineered at the factory,
concealing fasteners within the curb and eliminating leaks
• The roof is certified by FM and UL
• The roof system carries the highest wind uplift rating (Class 90) awarded
by Underwriters Laboratories (UL). And it is fully tested and approved by
FM Global as a Class 1 Panel Roof, and construction meeting windstorm
classification 1– 60 through 1–135 are available

BUTLERIB ® • Factory pre-punched panels and structural members assure proper fit and alignment
• Slotted holes allow the roof panels to move with thermal expansion and contraction forces
without tearing holes in the panels at fastener locations but sealed agaisnt leak
• Its "return leg" provides extra support at the panel side laps
• Strong fasteners offer twice the pullout strength of common self-drilling screws
• A special sealant groove is provided to assure BUTLER 38mm

BUTLER ® STRUCTURAL PURLINS
• BUTLER ® structural purlins are factory pre-punched to
assure proper fit and alignment
• BUTLER ® structural purlins are the connection between
the steel structures and the roof & wall systems. They are
integrated to the complete building system
• Major secondary structural members used to support the
wall and roof panels: purlins are used on the roof & girts
are used on the walls
• Designed in accordance with the 1996 Edition of the
American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), "Cold-Formed
Steel Design Manual"
• The typical types of roof and wall secondary are “Z” and “C”
section
• Z -section is used for continuous span bays, and it is factory
pre-punched to match BUTLER ® panel systems
• C-section is used for simple span bays and opening
support
• Truss purlin is another common type of secondary, used
for long-bay buildings. Truss Purlin is constructed of coldformed,
lipped hat section chords and continuous, coldformed
round tubing diagonals. Chord to tube welds are
typically resistance-projection type

BlueScope Butler China built multi–functional Butler research centers in Songjiang, Tianjin and Guangzhou Plants. These
research centers are fully equipped with advanced testing machines. All the materials and components samples must be
tested by Butler research centers to assure they meet the company standard specifications.
1. Accelerated Weathering Tester simulate sunlight, QUV
and rain to determine resistance to weathering of coil
coating and other material. Degradation of coating
films caused by accelerated weathering test is much
faster than natural weathering.
2. Salt Spray Corrosion Cabinet simulate marine
atmosphere environment to determine resistance to
salt spray of prepainted panel and other material under
conditions of high humidity and salt concentrations.
Observe rust, blister of sample after a period of test.
3. Corrosion Testing Chamber simulate acid rain
environment to determine the corrosion resistance
of prepainted panel and other material by exposure
to condensation moisture containing sulfur dioxide
(SO2). Observe pitting, crack, blister, color change of
sample after a period of test.
4. Temperature Humidity Chamber simulate high
temperature and high humidity environment to determine
resistance to humidity of prepainted panel and other
material. Observe blister, fading, loss of adhesion, rust of
sample after a period of test.
5. Electro-Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine is used
for test tension, bend of plates and bolts by hydraulic
loading principle.
6. Taber Abraser is used for determination resistance to
abrasion of coating by abrading spinning test sample
under weight load in grams placed on the wheels.

during manufacturing and service.
7. Impact Testing Instrument is used for determination
resistance to impact of coating by using different
heights fall. Evaluating the ability of resistance impact
of coil coating during manufacturing and service.
8. Coating Thickness Gauge is nondestructive coating
thickness measurement of all nonmagnetic coating
layers, such as lacquer and varnish, paint zinc...on
steel and iron.
9. Color Comparison Cabinet is visual appraisal of color
difference of coil coating. It is used for color match of
incoming material and different batch materials.
10. Spectrophotometer automatically measures color and
color difference of coil coating. It is used for color match
of incoming material and different batch materials. It also
used for measure color change of coil coating before and
after nature weathering and accelerated weathering,
evaluating resistance to weathering of coating.
11. Cross Hatch Cutters determines the adhesion between
coating and substrate by cross-cut tape test.
12. Paint Inspection Gauge measures film thickness of coating
using microscope observation precision angular cuts in
the coating film.
13. The Electronic Analytical Balance is used for weighing
before and after coating abrasion and dissolving
galvanization.
14. Paint Scratch Instrument measures the scratch hardness
by the loading needle to cut the coating.
15. Paint Hardness by Pencil is used for measurement film
hardness by pencil hardness. Evaluating the ability
of resistance damage of prepainted panel during
manufacturing and service.
16. Tri-Microgloss (20/60/85 degrees) is used for measure
specular gloss of coating. It also used for measure
gloss change of coil coating before and after nature
weathering and accelerated weathering, assess
resistance to weathering.
