Alstroemeria umbellata 30cm, is a herbaceous perennial from the southern and central Chilean An<strong>de</strong>s. Makes short stems<br />

<strong>de</strong>nsely covered with showy bluish green, slightly succulent leaves with undulated margins and a terminal<br />

umbel of pale pink flowers. For any rich, very well drained, rocky soil in a sunny spot. Protect from winter<br />

wetness and give some extra winter protection (e.g. dry mulch layer). Alternatively grow in pots, in winter<br />

keep dormant bulbs completely dry and frostfree at some 5°C. VI-VII.<br />
