Our Guest Speakers:
Bobby Basham
Potomac District Director
Bobby Basham grew up in the ministry in Appalachian District, being a
third generation Pentecostal preacher. Having begun his education
in mining engineering in southwest Virginia and receiving a full
scholarship, god began to deal with his heart, he walked away and
entered Southeastern university and began ministry even before
college at age 19. Bobby was part of Royal Rangers in 1974 as a pioneer,
but a relocation of his father’s ministry took them to an area where
Rangers did not exist. As he began his ministry calling, royal rangers
became his primary responsibility completing his LTC, ntc and training
chief status, served on capitol section staff, and restarted outpost 126
before becoming lead pastor of hayfield assembly of god. Through his
ministry royal rangers and men’s ministries have become a part of his
calling, helping to facilitate the restart of outpost 82, serving as
sectional men’s rep. for two years, bobby was then asked by the
leadership of the district to become the first full-time men’s director
and royal rangers executive director in the Potomac district. He
lives outside Winchester, Virginia with his wife Gina and four boys. He
loves camping, hunting and motorcycle riding, but most of all to see
men and boys lives touched by god’s great power.
Luis Velazquez
Spanish Eastern District Director
Rev. Luis Velazquez began his Royal Ranger Ministry in 1980 when his
pastor asked him to take training for a ministry for boys. Since day
one Brother Luis fell in love with the program and how it effectively
ministered to boys. He has held the positions of Area Commander,
Manhattan Sectional Commander, Long Island Sectional Commander,
District Aide de Camp, District Productions Coordinator, Deputy
District Commander and he now serves as The District Director.
Brother Luis has also helped in his local churches as Children's
Pastor, Education Minister, Youth Pastor and is an Associate Pastor at
Calvary Pentecostal Church in Brooklyn New York. He is also the
Founder and Director of a puppet and clown ministry called "A Time
to Laugh" which he uses to train young people on how to minister to
children. Professionally Brother Luis is a New York City school
teacher where he has been teaching for the last 28 years. He joined the
FCF in 1986 and has taken the name of Three Arrows.
Rev. Brent Maracle
Southern New England District Director
The Rev. Brent J. Sakoneseriiosta Maracle is the new pastor of St. Paul Evangelical Church of Lexington, a
congregation of the Assemblies of God Fellowship. Bro. Maracle, 36, is the first senior pastor of Mohawk
descent to be installed in the Southern New England Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God. A
Mohawk of the Turtle Clan from the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, Maracle grew up on the Akwesasne
Mohawk Territory (bordered by Quebec, Ontario and New York), where his parents were also ministers.
Maracle comes from a rich pastoral history — his father and grandfather and great-grandfather
pastored churches, and his father, the Rev. John E. Thohate Maracle, is the longtime head of the Native
American Fellowship of the Assemblies of God.
Maracle holds his bachelor’s degree in communications and government-legal studies from Evangel
university; and a master’s in government from harvard university. in 2005, he was awarded the derek bok
Public Service Award for his work with Native American governments and education of Native American
students. He joins St. Paul after 14 years working at Fidelity Investments, most recently as senior research
manager for the mutual fund giant’s corporate real estate group, where he conducted macroeconomic
and demographic research for fidelity’s global site strategy.
Maracle has held numerous roles in ministry. Since 2007, he has been a board member of Zion Bible College
in Haverhill, and is currently the outreach coordinator for the Southern New England Royal Rangers,
a global mentoring program for boys and young men. He launched the Assembly Station ministry in 2011
as an evangelism and discipleship ministry to a mobile culture, and served as a campus pastor with
Calvary Christian Church of Lynnfield, at its new Peabody campus, which launched in September 2011.
Throughout the years, St. Paul's has been committed to missions, supporting more than 20 missionaries
around the world. Maracle is expected to continue that proud history. He has blended his Native
American heritage and his heart for missions for the past four years, leading a group of men to alaska’s
Yukon River Delta, just below the Arctic Circle, where his team has helped the Yupik people on projects to
protect village drinking water, elders with fire wood supplies, and set up a nearby Bible camp for the
Alaskan natives. To reach the region, which has no electricity or running water, requires travel by
bush plane and all-terrain vehicles.
Maracle was a starting player on the Iroquois Nationals lacrosse team and competed in the 1992 Junior
men’s world games and the 1994 commonwealth games. in 1995, he coached the mohawk lacrosse team that
competed in the Indigenous Games in Minneapolis, which won the gold. He also played box lacrosse with
the Akwesasne Lightning from 1994 to 1996, a team ranked third in Canada in 1996.
Steve Monez
New York District Director
Steve Monez is 61 years old. He and his wife Lynda have 3 boys and 5
grandchildren. They reside in mineola, long island, NY. Steve gave his
life to the lord in June of 1974 and began working in royal rangers in
September of 1975. He had served his local outposts as a lt. commander,
outpost commander and senior commander. Moved to the long
island section in 1985 and began working with the sectional staff
there as area commander and sectional commander. Has served the
new York district as division commander, training coordinator,
deputy district commander and is currently district director. He is a
wilderness member of fcf and has taken the fcf name “trail runna”.
Steve is chartered with outpost 99 in Valley stream, ny where he serves
as an assistant group leader.
