6.2.2 Implementation of the Bush Fire Risk Management Plan by the firefighting
Authorities.
The Penrith Bush Fire Management Committee will report annually to the Bush Fire
Coordinating Committee on the progress made by firefighting authorities in implementing the
bush fire risk management plan.
The report will outline progress in the preparedness and response to bush fire activities.
The Penrith BFMC will report on the following performance measures:
Permits • Number of permits
issued.
• Number of fires escaped
from permit fires (%).
Period of Bush Fire Danger
Community Education and
Preparedness
Periods.
• Number of Community
Fireguard Groups in
place.
• Number of Community
Fire Unit groups in
place.
• Number of other
education programs in
place.
• Number of education
programs that ceased.
• Number of new
education programs
planned.
• Number of complaints
about fires.
• Number of local
evacuation plans in
place for special
protection areas
(hospitals, schools,
nursing homes or
residential areas at
extreme risk).

6.3 Bush Fire Risk Management Plan Effectiveness in Reducing the Communities’ Risk to
Bushfires.
Over the life of the Plan, the Penrith Bush Fire Management Committee will monitor and
report annually on the effectiveness of the Plan’s strategies in decreasing the level of bush
fire risk to community, environmental and ecological assets. Monitoring the effectiveness of
