When Dorothy Douthit purchased her 1906<br />
Peter Schuttler wagon in 2003, she spent over<br />
a year doing the restoration work herself. She<br />
built her own chuck box and even made an<br />
authentic “Possum Belly” to carry firewood in<br />
tow. Her goal was to bring the wagon back to<br />
life. Instead, she shaped a legacy of joy.<br />
Today, <strong>Fiddle</strong> <strong>Fire</strong> is an ideal way to<br />
recreate the sights and sounds of the Old<br />
West. The crew cooks over wood fires and<br />
bakes in Dutch ovens, just like they did in the<br />
days of the cattle drives. No charcoal or<br />
propane! Our food is fresh and “made from<br />
scratch” at the chuckwagon.<br />
We can either bring the wagon and camp to<br />
you, or you can rent facilities at Fort Concho<br />
and the San Angelo State Park. We cater for<br />
parties, weddings, reunions and more! The<br />
dining service can comfortably accommodate<br />
large groups, and you can even create custom<br />
menus to enjoy while Dorothy entertains you<br />
with her fiddle.<br />
