794. Hiroshima, a lump of molten glass 3 x 1½ inches from the atom bomb damage on Hiroshima…<br />

obtained by Lieut Commander Michael Evans whilst an officer on HMS Vengeance which visited Japan in<br />

April 1946 together with three photos of the devastation taken by the Commander at the time.. plus a note<br />

written by his widow explaining where and how he got the glass…. Lt Cmder Evans had a distinguished<br />

career having been Lord Mountbatten’s chief engineer and officer on HMS Kelly when she was attacked and<br />

sunk, he is mentioned in numerous naval books. Would make a superb conversation piece if mounted on a<br />
