794. Hiroshima, a lump of molten glass 3 x 1½ inches from the atom bomb damage on Hiroshima…
obtained by Lieut Commander Michael Evans whilst an officer on HMS Vengeance which visited Japan in
April 1946 together with three photos of the devastation taken by the Commander at the time.. plus a note
written by his widow explaining where and how he got the glass…. Lt Cmder Evans had a distinguished
career having been Lord Mountbatten’s chief engineer and officer on HMS Kelly when she was attacked and
sunk, he is mentioned in numerous naval books. Would make a superb conversation piece if mounted on a
