<strong>Win</strong> Vacations at Xtreme Races<br />

The Horse Events Inc. staff is excited to start off the 2011<br />

Xtreme <strong>Barrel</strong> <strong>Racing</strong> season! We have a few new and exciting<br />

things planned for 2011!!<br />

We will be giving away 4 Breeders Cup Vacation packages to<br />

Louisville KY!(every entry in the open, futurity, 18/40 and cowboy<br />

race will be put in the drawing).<br />

The grand prize in 2011 will be a 2012 Kentucky Derby vacation<br />

package! Vacation packages include air, hotel and tickets for 2 adults<br />

to the races!<br />

The Xtreme Forecast: Forecast your exact time for Sunday’s open<br />

race and win up to $10,<strong>000</strong> CASH!!! There is no entry fee all you<br />

have to do in fi ll out an entry form onsite with your predicted time<br />

before 8a.m. on Sunday! If one person forecast’s there exact time<br />

they will receive $10,<strong>000</strong> if 2 people forecast there exact time the<br />

will split the $10,<strong>000</strong> and each receive $5,<strong>000</strong> etc.<br />

The Futurity Class is also new for 2011! In April and May we will<br />

have a $5,<strong>000</strong> added Futurity side pot.The futurity is open to 4 and<br />

5 year old horses who have not competed prior to December 1st<br />

2010. We will pay two go’s and the average! Enter the open in the<br />

section that you would like to run in and carry over your time to the<br />

futurity. We will email you details and a form with information on<br />

your horse (not required to mail in your papers just bring them with<br />

you to check in). We are excited to see all of the new up an coming<br />

horses!<br />

Get qualifi ed at the April, May and July races to run in the<br />

$10,500 added Xtreme 15. To qualify run a 15.999 or faster at any<br />

of the fi rst 3 shows. The Xtreme 15 will be held on August 26th.<br />

Get your online entries in before 5p.m. March 25th to avoid the late<br />

fee. Due to the high number of returned checks last year we will<br />

not be accepting any checks. We will gladly accept all major credit<br />

and debit cards or cash.<br />

PRCA Members Shine at RodeoHouston<br />

Congratulations to the 79th annual Houston Livestock Show and<br />

Rodeo Super Series Champions, each of whom earned <strong>$50</strong>,<strong>000</strong>-plus<br />

during the 19-day run of the rodeo. Although 2011 Super Series<br />

earnings don’t count toward Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association<br />

championship points, the PRCA appreciates the opportunity<br />

extended its members by RodeoHouston and congratulates the<br />

winners.<br />

Record Attendance Set at RodeoHouston<br />

The 79th edition of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo<br />

ended on a record-breaking run, with 2,262,834 in total attendance,<br />

all while showcasing North America’s champion athletes through<br />

the invitational RodeoHouston BP Super Series and the inaugural<br />

Cinch RodeoHouston Super Shootout.<br />

“There are so many variables regarding attendance, from the<br />

weather to the economy, but we continue to excel by creating an<br />

exciting, innovative, fun, affordable place for friends and families<br />

to enjoy,” said Skip Wagner, president of the Houston Livestock<br />

Show and Rodeo. “With the help of the more than 24,<strong>000</strong> Show<br />

volunteers, we are able to continue to be the largest livestock show,<br />

richest regular-season rodeo, and offer the best entertainment option<br />

around.”<br />

The 2011 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo entertained a record<br />

2,262,834 visitors for total attendance (for all activities on the<br />

grounds).<br />

RodeoHouston paid attendance totaled 1,255,323 fans enjoying<br />

action-packed rodeo and superstars in concert.<br />

The 2011 RodeoHouston BP Super Series, an international, invitational<br />

championship, featured the world’s top 40 cowboys and top<br />

50 cowgirls in seven events.<br />

With the entire purse provided by RodeoHouston and no entry<br />

fees required by the athletes, contestants competed for a share of<br />

more than $1.5 million in prize money, and each event champion<br />

walked away from Reliant Stadium with at least <strong>$50</strong>,<strong>000</strong>, a Rodeo-<br />

Houston trophy saddle, and a champion buckle.<br />

The Cinch RodeoHouston Super Shootout: North America’s<br />

Champions debuted Sunday, March 20. This ground-breaking,<br />

invitation-only, one-day event featured champion athletes from<br />

the top 10 U.S. and Canadian rodeos competing in bareback riding,<br />

barrel racing, bull riding, and saddle bronc riding for a total purse<br />

of $200,<strong>000</strong>, making the event the richest one-day rodeo. Each<br />

champion walked away with $25,<strong>000</strong>.<br />
