At the Clifton Hunter Trials held on the 28 th August, Ipeleng Sefularo and Waihikee Island came in
first in the 50cm event. Courtenay Webster and Pippa, rode a clear in both cross country and
show jumping but were unfortunately out of the placings in the junior 50cm. Emily Yeo and
Samson came in second in the junior pre-novice 80cm, after a clear show jumping round and
three stops in the cross country. Roxanne Hanson and Welcome Girl placed third in the junior
pre-novice 80cm with a clear in the show jumping but had a few problems with the water in the
cross country. Julia Guthrie’s pony, Revenge, unfortunately went lame just before the show but
she competed in the 60cm class, coming in first on Aura Day. Storm White rode both Forsythe
Post Matric Weekly Report by Ryan Pooler
We had a busy start to the week with our Toastmasters on Monday and Wednesday night,
Businesses Communications on Tuesday and Thursday. On the Thursday we all graduated from
our Business Communications course with Brenda. The rest of the week we were very busy with
all the planning and organization for the Bundu Bash that was held on Saturday. The Posties did
their best and worked late and hard to get everything ready for the race on Saturday.
Thomas, Tamryn, Ross and Fiona assisting at the Bundu Bash finish line
Thankfully Sunday was a rest day because we were all quite tired from the week that had just
passed; I know we are all looking forward to the week ahead.
Hockey
Gr 1 & 2 Epworth Hockey Festival – Mr Div Bebb
The grade 1 & 2 boys went down to Epworth to participate in their Hockey Festival. It was
extremely hot, but despite the weather the boys put on a fine performance and never lost a game.
The grade 1s played 3, drew 1 and won 2. The grade 2s played 3, drew 2 and won 1.
Well done boys.
U13 A match results– Mr Marc Schulze
Oh no! Our U13A hockey team suffered their first defeat of the season against a very skilled
Laddsworth team. We went down 6-1. The trick here is for our boys to pick themselves up, dust off
and play the next match against Clifton with purpose. Come on boys, I know you can do it!

U11 vs Laddsworth – Mrs Gail Palmer
The U11 boys played hockey against Laddsworth on Wednesday. The boys played really well but
were held to 1-0 in the first half. In the second half they came out with their guns blazing and
scored another 6 goals, only letting in 2 goals in against the run of play. The end result 7-2 to
Treverton. The boys showed a lot of skill and their passing was out of the top drawer. Well done to
the boys they deserved this result.
U10 vs Laddsworth and Harriston – Mrs Michelle Chaperon
Sadly the Under 10 boys did not play on their festival at Laddsworth on Saturday 27 August, as it
was raining. They did, however, have a match against Laddsworth on the Treverton Astro on
Wednesday. It was a very tough match, where the boys had to work hard throughout the game,
and ended losing 4 - 6. On Monday 5 September they played against Harriston, again on the
Treverton Astro. They came off of the field smiling, having won 8 - 2.
Well done to Daniel Durham, Chris Williams, James Taylor, Rhys Grobler, Luthando Ndawo, Gavin
Veenstra, Thando Zungu and Liam Pillai who have played well this season and are improving with
every match!
KZN, on the 4 th
September. He won the
first race, and finished
2 nd in the next two
races. This gave him
overall 2 nd for
the day, ONE point
behind the winner!
Mitchell still leads the
KZN Championship,
with one round left on
the 9 th October. Mitchell
will be competing in the
final round of the SA
Nationals at Zwartskops
October.
Girls Soccer
1 st team vs Wembly – Mr Jason Hyam
On Tuesday the 30 th August the unbeaten Treverton 1st team soccer girls stepped out to play
against Wembley 1 st team girls. The game started well with Treverton exerting pressure and
dominating possession and territory. Soon a goal came from the boot of Minenhle Mnyandu and
Treverton were 1-0 up. This is the way the 1 st half ended. The second half was more of the same
as Treverton launched wave after wave of attack, with Wembley conceding a corner which
Minenhle crossed for Elizabeth Pappas to score from a rehearsed set piece perfectly executed. Not
much later Tess Hartslief put the final nail in the coffin as she scored to make it 3-0. Well done to
the girls.

Boys Soccer
1st team vs Wembly – Mr Mtembeni Madondo
On Thursday the A side travelled down to Wembly to take on their firsts. We knew that it wasn’t
going to be the toughest game but this team treats every game as if it’s the final. The boys
dominated the whole game and they won 8-1 which is the biggest victory of the season.
Well done to the boys for going all out!
Solitaire
On Friday, 4 August, nine intrepid Solitarians headed off to Glenrock Trout and Game Farm for
48 hours of introspective solitary confinement. Solitary they were and confined to an area of 10
square metres, with tantalizing space all around; as much food as will fit into a match-box, only a
Bible to read; no torch; no watch... under the unsympathetic eye of their three Instructors. All the
young ladies survived the experience, so it's congratulations to: Catherine Meyer (Catherine won
the best 'Friend' competition - they have to create a 'friend from anything in their surroundings),
Jana Wolmarans, Marelé Muller, and Posties: Ashley Keene, Amber Nel (Amber won 'Best
Shelter'), Tamryn Strumpher, Fiona Scott-Berning, Jessica Dignon and Nicci Thomas, on earning
their Solitaire Award. Well done also to Bali Phasha, Chelsea Maher and Jacoba Veenstra on doing
a fine job of supervising the novices, and thus earning their Solitaire Instructor Award.
End of Season Fly Fishing Competition
Congratulations to William Meyer on winning the prizes for Biggest Trout (a 2kg Rainbow Trout)
and Most Fish Caught; on a cold and miserable day on which it wasn't easy to catch any fish at all.
