Zulu is a Bantu language spoken in South Africa,
especially in the Zululand area of KwaZulu/Natal
province. Closely related languages are Xhosa, Swazi,
Sotho (Basuto), Tswana (Bechuana), Venda, and
Ndebele: in fact Zulu and Xhosa are similar enough to be
considered dialects of one language.
Zulu has borrowed many words from Afrikaans and
English. Its sound system includes three types of click
sound. Most Zulu words end in a vowel.
