Papers of the Frasers of Strichen and Lovat.
This collection consists of the title deeds and estate papers of these two families from the
15 th century to around 1800. It covers all aspects of the financial and legal affairs of
both, but those of the Strichen family are particularly well detailed. The collection was
preserved in the basement of Messrs Tods Murray and Jamieson WS, where it was
probably lodged in the last century while the Strichen family was establishing its claim to
the Fraser of Lovat title. The general arrangement is as follows:
