Megalodon is the largest discovered fish, weighing in at an
average of 103 tons. This huge shark ate dolphins, whales,
cetotherids, squalidontids, odobenocetops, sperm whales,
bowhead whales, rorquals, pinnipels, porpoises, sinenias, and
giant sea turtles. While it lived in the Miocene era, some
scientists believe it may lives in the depths of the ocean still
today. Its jaws were massive, just its teeth were 7 inches long.
It had the most powerful bite of any creature that ever existed.
on average, megalodon is 60 ft long, but can grow up to 75 ft
long. It even out grew the largest sea reptile, Liopluerodon.
Megalodon ate whales on a daily basis, and whales are the
largest creatures today! It hunted whales by biting off their fins.
It lived all over the world, except the north and south poles.

But the strangest fact is, no one knows why or if, megalodon
went extinct.

The third largest fish is the whale shark. Its not a whale, despite
its name. Its a species of sharks. Though they are sharks, they
are harmless. They weigh, on average, 13 tons. But at birth they
are 64 centimeters. They eat algae, plankton, krill, crab larvae,
squid, and small fish. Today they are well known, but they were
discovered in 1828. Whale sharks filter feed. Because of this,
they cant swallow large organisms. Despite its size, its throat is
only as wide as a penny.
