Recipes
We frequently hear the term “comfort food” and
for each of us it probably means something
different. Often it is a food we remember fondly
from childhood and perhaps it represents the
security of those early days of our life. For me,
toasted cheese sandwiches are right up there
in the Comfort Food Stakes! They can be eaten
with a cup of tea or coffee, a glass of wine or
even the fizzy drinks kids love. Palates have
become more sophisticated but the versatility of
toasted sandwiches still makes them a favourite
in most homes. Now, with the stylish Russell
Hobbs Sandwich Press, the humblest toasted
sandwich takes on a bit of glamour. There are
so many different breads in the supermarkets
that even basic fillings can create an exotic
snack. For example, use a lovely seedy
bread with a smear of mayonnaise, smoked
ham or chicken with sliced avocado to create
a glamorous lunchtime offering. To create a
smart little savoury snack to serve with drinks,
toast your sandwiches, trim off the crusts and
cut the sandwich into neat triangles.
Experiment with different breads, including fruit
breads, and use sliced fruits such as bananas,
mangos, peaches to create temptingly delicious
and healthy snacks! We have offered a few
original ideas in our recipe suggestions and
you’ll find these quick and easy to prepare, with
perfect results every time.
The Sandwich Press is also the most easily
cleaned appliance you will ever own and I’m
sure after you use it, you will agree that this
new “kitchen friend” is indispensable! And,
it would make a great present for the cook
who has everything - except a Russell Hobbs
Sandwich Press!
