You will be au<strong>to</strong>matically eligible for a Blue Badge if you<br />

• Mobility Allowance<br />
• War Pensioner’s Mobility Allowance<br />
• Higher rate of Disability Living Allowance (DLA), that is<br />
awarded “ Help getting around.”<br />
Or if you:<br />
• Are registered blind<br />
• Use a disabled person’s car supplied by a government<br />
department<br />
• Receive a grant <strong>to</strong>wards owning a vehicle under section<br />
5(2)(a) of the NHS Act 1977, or section 46 of the NHS<br />
(Scotl<strong>and</strong>) Act 1978.<br />
You will be assessed as eligible if you:<br />
• Drive a mo<strong>to</strong>r vehicle regularly <strong>and</strong> have a severe<br />
disability in both upper limbs <strong>and</strong> are unable <strong>to</strong> turn by<br />
h<strong>and</strong> the steering wheel of a mo<strong>to</strong>r vehicle even if it is<br />
fitted with a turning knob.<br />
• Have a permanent <strong>and</strong> substantial disability, which<br />
causes inability <strong>to</strong> walk or very considerable difficulty in<br />
walking.<br />
