NIC JOHN – BUSINESS LECtURER<br />

Nic John has over 20 years leadership and operational experience managing service delivery and system integrity<br />

of critical infrastructure and in high risk situations. Specific roles have included frontline leadership, enterprise<br />

innovation development, risk assessment and hazard management, system investigation and analysis, operational air<br />

traffic controller, quality management and process improvement. He holds a Masters in Entrepreneurship, PGCert in<br />

Management Studies, and a CPL (H), Dip Air Traffic Control.<br />

SaM YOUNG – BUSINESS LECtURER<br />

Sam Young has been teaching at <strong>NMIT</strong> since 2007 on <strong>the</strong> Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Sport & Recreation<br />

programmes. Her passions lie in management, research, leadership and sports PR. Sam has her own business consultancy;<br />

holds professional membership to <strong>the</strong> Institute of Directors, <strong>the</strong> Career Development Association (CDANZ) and is an associate<br />

of <strong>the</strong> New Zealand Institute of Management. Since 2010 she has also served as a director on <strong>the</strong> CDANZ National Executive.<br />

JOHN INGLIS – BUSINESS LECtURER<br />

John teaches both marketing and management papers on <strong>the</strong> degree and diploma at <strong>the</strong> <strong>NMIT</strong> business school. He has<br />

over twenty years’ management experience in business, working in a wide range of businesses including agriculture,<br />

horticulture, retail and tourism. John is a current and past company director of a number companies and has his own<br />

business. He has undergraduate qualifications in accounting and marketing and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management.<br />

KEItH COMaN – MaRKEtING LECtURER<br />

Keith Coman grew up in Rhodesia and studied at Rhodes University where he completed a Bachelor of Commerce<br />

(Honours) degree and went on to complete a Masters degree and became a marketing lecturer at Rhodes. He started<br />

working for Ford South Africa in <strong>the</strong>ir Sales & Marketing department for six years, first heading up <strong>the</strong>ir marketing<br />

research team before entering <strong>the</strong> dealer development department. Keith moved to New Zealand in 1995 and took<br />

up his role in <strong>NMIT</strong>’s Applied <strong>Business</strong> Programme Area.<br />

SUE MaLtHUS – aUdItING aNd aCCOUNtING tUtOR<br />

Sue Malthus has worked in <strong>the</strong> accounting industry for over eleven years, including working for Andersens in London and<br />

KPMG in Hong Kong and Christchurch. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow of <strong>the</strong> New Zealand Institute<br />

of Chartered Accountants (NZICA), and is currently part of <strong>the</strong> Local Leadership Team of NZICA. Sue has an Honours<br />

degree in Science from St Andrews University in Scotland, a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and a Masters of<br />

Management in Accounting from Massey University.<br />

PaULINE CaRSON – PRINCIPaL aCadEMIC Staff MEMBER<br />

Pauline has over 15 years of experience delivering interactive customer service training to corporate clients such as:<br />

Talleys, MTA, Nelson City Council, Houston Motors, NMDHB and Heslops. Pauline is <strong>the</strong> convenor of <strong>the</strong> National<br />

<strong>Business</strong> Administration Forum and consults with a wide range of local businesses and polytechnics in <strong>the</strong> area of<br />

<strong>Business</strong> Administration. Pauline also holds membership with <strong>the</strong> Association of Administrative Professionals of New<br />

Zealand (AAPNZ).<br />

BRON MOGRIdGE – SENIOR LECtURER BUSINESS adMINIStRatION, MaRLBOROUGH<br />

Bron Mogridge has over 20 years’ experience in <strong>the</strong> teaching and administration fields both in Australia and<br />

New Zealand. To complement her teaching she is heavily involved with <strong>the</strong> Marlborough group of Association of<br />

Administrative Professionals New Zealand (AAPNZ) and has been a Director of AAPNZ PD Limited. Bron has diplomas<br />

in secondary and tertiary teaching, a degree and post-graduate certificate from Massey University and<br />

has obtained her Master of Teaching.<br />
