MYSTIC HERBALIST
More than one year after the
release of their last album, Ganja
White night is now announcing
their new album will be out on
January 14th.
For the new album, Ganja White
Night has completely revisited their
composition and inspirations.
The band, now consisting of
BambY and Evasive Mumbling
(R-One), has developped new
methods, worked differently to
develop an album that is more
focused on their mutual inspirations.
"Mystic Herbalist" is, from their point of view, more of a "back to the sources"
album rather than a complete different style of music : closer to the Ganja’s
roots. This album is very important to the too musicians who see in it their true
musical identity : kind of a rant about what dubstep became or rather how
people see it.
This album includes, as usually, many inspirations from tribal songs and ethnic
instruments, still including a great concern with harmony of music of course.
Anyway, it's still dubstep and omnipresent massive wobble bass and various
percussions’ notions remains the genre’s bases. The introduction as well as
the last track of their album is experience from the Hip Hop scene, thanks to
their work with Simon Danhier (Belgian author and singer) on Brains Escape.
A music video has also been created especially for that song, entirely self-produced
and available of the Official Youtube channel of the band (GanjaWhite-
NightTV).
This album is also a challenge for the two members of the group to prove their
skills without the third one. Conscious of having grew in maturity thanks to
their experience, this album is a step towards real professional way.

For the graphic side, these releases are definitely the first of a long serie of
collaborations with the illustrator Monsta. Through its very characteristic
style, it was able to give Ganja White Night a visual identity which, until now,
could be described as elusive.
IDENTITY
Ganja White Night differs on several points.
First, in their technique and philosophy of composition in wich the harmony
predominates and the atmosphere is important. A track is never made imagining
its effectiveness on the dancefloor, but in order to offer a different and
unique travel to each title for the listener and to involve him into their
universe.
Then, in the way they work with different styles of music, mixing them and
creating something new without it being a complete stereotype.
On each listening, according to the listening mode used, the auditor may
discover details never heard before.
Ganja White Night in the dark with headphones, on a big sound system in a
party or for the background music, will every time be a much different way to
feel their music. But the best way to understand their music is, according to
them, by listening with good headphones, in a quiet place and of couse with
hard bass.

BIOGRAPHY
Influenced by various genres such as hip-hop, breakz or drum & bass, Benjamin
Bayeul aka Bamby, Erwan Charlie Dodson aka Evasive Mumbling and
François Volral aka LeBelgElectrod founded Ganja White Night.
At that time, they were three students in electro-acoustique with Annette
Vande Gorne at the Conservatory of Mons, they engaged in a live Dubstep
project, a style that could still be qualified of emergent. Learning concrete
music and sound design gave Ganja White Night an authentic identity.
For their live acts, the band decided to build
a set up that allows them to be as much
creative than effective. They were combining
machines, computers, midi keyboards,
controllers and other effects processors.
More recently, the iPad was added to their
huge set up.
In front of a more and more frequent
demand of dj sets, they started to learn to
mix. The organizers could not always provide
enough space for the live performance
but were happy to be able to book GWN in a
reduced formula. This is also why they were
able to export more easily.
After 3 succesfull EP's rather well underway, the trio finally released his first
album which has, as traditionnaly, the same name as the group. It was
released on February 2010 on under their own label "SubCarbon" created for
the occasion. This first album was in fact more a compilation of their first
singles and some new tracks but allow them to turn the corner of the first
official release.
After this release, they toured several times in England and had other dates
across Europe, but the U.S. sales were the most important, especially with
the tracks Blueberry and Peace By Fear.
After a long period of work in their home studio, Ganja White Night came
back in september 2011 with Buddha, a superb EP clearly more dub and
reggae hosted by Simon Danhier.

One month later, they released "In The Garden", a long-awaited album. This
was they first complete work, a set of tracks at once thought to fit together
and based on many various genres. The album included many collaborations
with other artists from Belgium and abroad as BunZero (BE), Mc
Xander (UK), Don Fiasko (BE), Orbatak (CAN) Shekel (ISL), Glÿph (BE) and
Simon Danhier (BE).
In order to announce the release of their album, they created a home-made
teaser where you can see the three member gardening on a heavy dubstep
beat. That teaser had its own success on the web.
In January 2012, LebelgElectrod who took slowly different direction, finally
decided to leave the band. You can still continue to follow his work because
Lebelgelectrod continues his solo project as well in live as in production.
