Meeting Called to Order:

Old Business:
Open Positions (3): Assistant Treasurer, PTA Council Alternate Delegates
Brick Fundraiser: Tracey waiting on a call from the mason. Tracey will e-mail all who
purchased a brick when installation is in progress.
Patriot’s Day May 29 th : Turned out great, we had 250 visitors attend. The raindate was used.
Holland Hill Heros May 31 Walk-o-thon: Raised $577 for the Hole in the Wall Gang.
Got Books: Large bin outside school. Accepts books/DVDs. Will take any books – Adult,
children & Textbooks. They donated 7 boxes of books to the school. We will keep it going for a
while. We don’t pay anything to have it but they pay us for getting it filled. An ad will be in the
paper.

Student Appreciation Week 5/30: Kids loved the ices. Chris Tracey, Assistant Fire Chief
spoke to the kids about leadership skills. He brought his equipment, which was a big hit.
Mr. Arnone’s Farewell Reception 6/5: Wonderful success.
Fitness Fun Day 6/5: Was a wonderful day and we missed the rain. Big thanks to all the
volunteers.
Parent Teacher Party 6/8: Wonderful success, great turnout of parents and teachers. Date set
for next year June 7 th . Made about $1,300, $864 in door prizes. Kelly and Berkley chairing
next year.
New Business:
Swearing in New E-board memberS: Mr Arnone swore in Trudi Durrell as our Co-President
elect and Virginie Morin as our BOE delegate alternate. All approved.
Celebration Books: Departing Holland Hill families were recognized. Maria Lepray brought up
different people to present the celebration books and say a few words to 12 families.
Principal’s Report: This was Mr. Arnone’s last PTA meeting at Holland Hill. He spoke about
the Holland Hill community. He spoke of how Mr. Ledman challenged him when he started at
HH to keep the sense of community going and Mr. Arnone will pass this along to Mrs. Cretella.
Gifts: Yasmine presented departing families gifts to those who served on the PTA (E-Board or
committee)
Short Break
Bluefish Game 6/14: Over 281 tickets sold. We are 3 tickets from the record.
End of School Bonfire-Jennings Beach 6/21: Starts at 6:30pm. Bring your own S’mores for
roasting. Hoping this will start a new Holland Hill tradition. No raindate. Hoping it works out
and we don’t get people from outside Holland Hill. Maybe we can block off our section.
5 th Grade Pizza Fundraiser 6/21: Form to order went out in the Howl this week. $4.50 for 1
slice of pizza and water. Looking for coolers to use. Need volunteers to pass out pizza and
water. Trish passed around a sign up form. Be sure to send in your orders.
New Standing committee: Technology Liaison Committee approved. Marissa and Kelly will
chair along with Melissa who can write grants and Laura Cretella . Wireless ordered for school
for fall.
Beautification Summer Watering Schedule: The school is divided into 2 sections. Hoses will
be out for your use. Pick a week and come around when you have time to water the flowers and
trees. Email will go out to remind those who sign up.

Fun / Fundraisers: Calendar reviewed (see attached), Yasmine went through each item.
Fun: Events approved.
Fundraisers:
• Going to move the coupon book to November.
• Tae Kwon Do is $60 for 6 weeks and all the money goes to HH.
• New event is Ladies Night Out in February. Going to take it offsite and have an auction
with wine.
• Fundraiser Events Approved
Fun/Cash Cow : ongoing
5 th Grade Talent Show: Looking for chairs. Bill Moran is willing to chair but he will need a
co-chair.
New Standing Committee:
• Technology Committee
• Working with Laura Cretella to see what is needed to bring to HH.
• Hoping to get wireless in the fall from the Board of Ed.
• It’s our turn to get new computers
• New committee Approved.
Budget Surplus:
• We have $22,500 spending from surplus with a $2,494.62 reserve.

Facebook Page and HH website: it was suggested that we start a HH facebook page. Jason Li
will work on that for us. We are going to add 2 pages to the website: Cash Cow information and
a list of all the fun/fundraisers so everyone will know when things are coming up.
Summer Library: Is set up for this year.

Howl: Will add the PTA agenda the week of the meetings. Will add the minutes to the website
after the meeting. Last Howl – June 18, 2012
