ELIZABETH SMITH Bef. 1803 in Montgomery County, Kentucky, daughter of WILLIAM SMITH and MARY 

HAWLEY. He married (3) MALINDA BOONE 07 Dec 1828 in St. Charles County, Missouri, daughter of SQUIRE 

BOONE and ANNIE GRUBBS. She was born 1806, and died Abt. 1850 in St. Charles County, Missouri.

The Clerk's Fee Book (1774-1800) of Nansemond County, VA indicates Zachariah McClenny was appointed 

guardian to Micajah McClenny in 1793. 

Micajah's family came from the vicinity of Natural Bridge, Virginia and settled early in St. Charles, Missouri 

(according to "Kentucky Explorer Magazine, Kinfolks-Genealogy from the Louisville Herald-Post - 1930's, 

edited by J. Emerson Miller"). 

Everton Pedigrees: Everton Publishers 1500-1990, Sec II, Ch 1, Family File I, Group Sheet 23856 shows his first 

marriage date as 1796. 

Micajah McClenny appears with the rank of Captain on a Pay Roll of discharged men of Captain Micajah 

McClenny's Company, Battalion Kentucky Mounted Volunteer militia commanded by major Peter Dudley, War 

of 1812. 

He was shown on the Company Muster Roll for the period of Sept 20th to Nov 20th, 1814. 

This Company Muster Roll was dated Detroit 11-20-1814. 

Date of enlistment: 09-20-1814 

Engaged to: 11-20-1814 

His place of residence was: Mount Sterling, KY 

Place of rendezvous was: Urbana 

Discharged from: Detroit which was 400 mies from place of residence 

He received pay of $ 64.12 and was allowed 28 days to return home 

at 20 miles per day with pay and 84 rations units.

Family records indicate Robert was involved in building a bridge across the Femme Osage creek in Missouri in 

1848. He moved to California in 1850 and Lucinda and four redheaded daughters followed in the spring of 1853. 

They arrived at their new home near Sacremento, California at 9 p.m. on October 2, 1853.

Martha Jane Hartt McClenny came from a family of debaters and lawyers. 

When her youngest daughter didn't want to give an oral book report in the sixth grade, the Richardson High 

School English teacher thought a children's acting school might ease her fears. In the acting class, the quiet child 

exhibited a natural talent for the stage. She and her sister blossomed into actresses at Dallas' Theatre Three. That 

daughter's name is Morgan Fairchild, the flashy blonde who set a benchmark for glitzy women with an attitude on 

television's Falcon Crest just as her mother retired in 1981. What Mrs. McClenny did for her shy daughter is 

similar to what she did for her students, said her other daughter, Cathryn Hartt of Miami. "She thought every one 

of her students was special," Ms. Hartt said. "She had the ability to make you believe you were special. Her 

students really adored her." Mrs. McClenny, 74, died May 4 of complications of a stroke at Walnut Place nursing 

center. Services were Friday in Dallas for the retired teacher, who was buried in Restland Memorial Park. Ms. 

Fairchild said that she is often recognized in airports - not just as an actress, but also as Mrs. McClenny's 

daughter. "Almost a month doesn't go by that someone comes up to me in an airport and says, "Oh, your mother

made Julius Caesar live for me,' " Ms. Fairchild said. "She did that for a lot of people." Her mother was witty and 

contributed something special to any gathering of people, the actress said. "She was one of those people who 

made everyone around her feel better about themselves," Ms. Fairchild said. In everyone she met, Mrs. 

McClenny instilled the notion to follow your heart, Ms. Hartt said. "She was one of those really amazing 

teachers," she said. Both of Mrs. McClenny's daughters became professional actors, but she wasn't a stage 

mother, simply a big fan of her daughters' works. "Mom was there for us through every single rehearsal," Ms. 

Hartt said. Born in Dallas, Mrs. McClenny was a graduate of Southern Methodist University. After teaching 

briefly in Irving, Mrs. McClenny spent the rest of her career at Richardson High School, where she taught junior 

English for 24 years, retiring in May 1981. In the '60s, Mrs. McClenny used the work of Bob Dylan and the 

Beatles to teach poetry, her daughter said. "If you wanted her to, she'd do your astrology chart for you," Ms. 

Hartt said. "She was a very cool teacher. She was a cool mom." Mrs. McClenny had many friends. "She just was 

a remarkable soul who will be really, really missed by a lot of people," Ms. Hartt said. "It's hard to talk about it 

now without crying, because she was just a remarkable person. If you walked into a room with my mother, 

everybody in the room would be around my mother and laughing." In addition to her daughters, Mrs. McClenny 

is survived by her husband, Edward Milton McClenny of Dallas.

Brad McClenny and wife Mattie have been working with the International Students at Grayson County College 

since January 2002. He recently completed his education at SWBTS with an Advanced Diploma in Theology. 

They live and work on the GCC Campus. They have two grown children. Their son Chris and wife Tory live in 

DeWitt, AR. He coaches football in Dumas, AR. Emily is a manager for Holiday Inn Select in Little Rock, AR. 

Brad currently supplies the pulpit for various churches in Grayson County when needed. He also helps with 

Fellowship of Christian Students at GCC, Third Thursday Thing to provide an open door to the BSM for all 

students on campus, and works in various other ministry related areas to reach as many people as possible through 

service minded ministries. He has worked at various churches and missions for the past 12 years with youth 

before moving up to work with college age students.
