drug evidence items fit under this criterion.<br />

0.01 Gram <strong>of</strong> Powder<br />

Marked pharmaceutical tablets and/or capsules, unless the markings indicate a<br />

controlled substance and a jury trial date has been set.<br />

o Pharmaceutical tablets and capsules can <strong>of</strong>ten be identified through their<br />

imprint code. It is suggested to consult reference books (e.g. Physicians Desk<br />

Reference - PDR), contact a local pharmacist, poison control, or the online<br />

references:<br />

o If you have several tablets/capsules that are the same, please only submit one<br />

for analysis<br />

The temporary suspension noted above is in addition to our current case and evidence<br />

acceptance policies which will remain the same:<br />

The BCA will only analyze to highest charging level<br />

0.01 Gram <strong>of</strong> Plant Material<br />

Quantitations to determine purity will only be done for Federal cases.<br />

o All cases requiring purity determination (quantitation) should be sent to the St. Paul<br />

location.<br />

o Provide contact information for the prosecuting attorney and indicate any trial dates if<br />

known<br />

Salt form determination <strong>of</strong> cocaine is only reported for cases that will be federally prosecuted.<br />

Items NOT to submit<br />

o Non-drug items and drug items in a case that do not need to be examined<br />

o Field test kits<br />

o Syringes
