Yesterday's game, billed as a battle of undefeated (9-0), defensive kingpins, simply did not pan out. Parlaying a variety of of tensive formations with crisp blocking and fine signal calling by quarterback Steve Coursey, the visitors from Massachusetts scored the first time they got their bands on the hull, Coursey, working from a straight T- formation sent his fullback Ray Noel (Mark Nelson-Ed) and half-backs Dennis Sullivan and Richard Howlett, bursting through gaping boles In the line. Eight plays later, Howlett went up the middle from the one yard line and Wilmington led 6-0. The Chargers threatened three times more In the first half, but a dropped pass and a fine defensive play by Ken Sullivan of the Colo- nial Federal prevented touchdowns (After shredding the Colonial front line with running plays, Coursey fired a long pass to How- lett, who was totally unguarded. The ball, however, was under- thrown and a TD was missed. Sullivan, a linebacker, averted another Charger score when he broke through the line and nailed Coursey tor a loss on the Colonial eight-yard line. The Chargers drove down field tor an easy TDand PAT at the start of the second half, and It looked like a rout was in the making. But at this point the locals came to life. Thomas Roche and Sullivan took turns toting the p'g«H" downfleld tor gains totalling 20 yards, and then Sullivan broke through the middle, cut to his left, and streaked 2- yards tor a touchdown. The PAT failed, but Colonial seemed to be back In the ballgame. Those hopes quickly faded after a couple of offensive series, though, as Colonial was unable to move. And, when Wilmington tacked on Its third TD early to the fourth period, there was no doubt that the final score would be a true indi- cation of the game. Sullivan (offense) and Mike Be- mud (defense) received the Most Valuable Player awards for Colo- nial, while Howlett (offense) and Coursey (defense) gatod top honors tor the Chargers. CHANGE KASZYNSKI TO BOCK? Frank Kaszynskl Jr of Jones Avenue returned home last week end with a 228 pound nine point buck, which he had shot in Maine. His uncle, Wally Romanskl had a 10 point buck, weighing out at 215 pounds, and Johnny Romanskl had one with four points, and weighing out at 206 pounds. Young johnny Is only 14 years old. All the deer were shot within a few hundred yards of each other, but not all on the same day.
