When Does Vindication Occur
A 70 Week/490 Year Vision and a 2300 Day/Year Vision
Reference: Daniel Chapter 8 thru Chapter 12
This study is an overview of the eighth thru twelfth chapters of the Book of Daniel which
reveals two separate prophecies that are related, but do not comingle. In the vision of 70 weeks
GOD warns Judah, HIS pre‐CHRIST host, to prepare for and accept the coming Messiah or else
be cut off from HIS inheritance, and in the 2300 day/year vision GOD prepares those of us
host/Christians who are of the post‐CHRIST advent to be prepared for 2300 years of
transgression and desolation. These two separate prophecies were stacked upon each other
and meant to be a continuation of events in Biblical history and forecast. However, the 2300
day/year prophecy would never have occurred if Judah had accepted and fulfilled the 70
week/490 year prophecy through the acceptance of the Messiah.
Let us now begin our study of these visions that came to Daniel:
Daniel 8: 2 – 12 ... Daniel has just seen a vision of the future that brings about a little horn
which grew exceedingly great. It challenged the host of heaven and cast down the host of GOD
to the ground, and trampled upon them. The little horn/kingdom even exalted himself/itself as
high as the PRINCE of the host, and by this little horn kingdom the daily services were taken
away, and also the place of GOD’s Sanctuary was cast down. He cast truth to the ground, and
he prospered until the Day of Vindication.
Daniel 8: 13 … An angel asked another angel, “How long will the vision be, that is the giving of
both the Sanctuary and the host of GOD to be trampled underfoot?” (So, how long will the
vision be that concerns the daily service of the host being hindered in their perfect sacrifice of
worship, praise, and offerings, and the transgression of desolation; that is the giving of both the
(earthly) Sanctuary and the host of GOD being trampled underfoot? Now we must establish a
time after Daniel’s vision when the innocent and obedient host of GOD were first trampled
upon by the little horn power that rules the earth. Remember that the host of God had always
been blessed by GOD to be free from persecution ever since Israel became a nation, unless they
were disobedient and were punished by GOD HIMSELF, as we see in the 70 year exile when the
Babylonians forced Judah into slavery with GOD’s prompting.)
Daniel 8: 14 … The angel said to me, “For two thousand three hundred days/years, then the
(earthly and the Heavenly) Sanctuary shall be vindicated”. (From the time the host and the
Sanctuary of GOD are first trampled upon by the little horn kingdom until GOD’s vindication
there shall be 2300 years.)
Daniel 8: 16 … I, Daniel, heard a man’s voice, and he called out and said, “Gabriel, make this
man understand the 2300 day/year vision”.

Daniel 8: 17… Gabriel said to me, “Understand, O son of man, that the vision refers to the time
of the end”. (Please be reminded that the “Time of the End” did not start until sometime after
JESUS CHRIST was crucified and arose from the grave of the dead. The New Covenant had to be
put in place first before the “Time of the End” could begin. See Hebrews 9: 26.
Daniel 8: 19… Then Gabriel said, “I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter
time of the indignation, for at the appointed time the end of days shall be”. (The latter days of
indignation, which bring tribulation upon the host, have become the focus of Daniel’s
understanding.)
Daniel 8: 20 – 25 … In the latter time of Greece’s divided kingdoms (four), a king/kingdom shall
arise (Reference: Daniel 8: 9). The little horn kingdom shall be mighty, but not by his own
power. (Satan provides, as an army is given over to the little horn king/kingdom by Cesar
Constantine of Rome in A.D. fourth century). This king/kingdom shall destroy others fearfully,
and prosper as he destroys the mighty of the earth and also the holy people who are the host
of GOD. This king/kingdom shall rise against the PRINCE of princes, but he shall be broken
without a man’s hand. (In these verses Gabriel gives a recap of world history from Daniel’s time
in history until the little horn kingdom, which understands sinister schemes and rises against
the PRINCE of GOD, is broken by GOD, so that the vindication of the Sanctuary and the host is
complete.)
Daniel 8: 26 … The vision of the (2300) evenings and mornings (days) which was told to you is
true. Therefore seal up the vision, for the vision refers to many days in the future. (This vision
was not for Daniel’s time; it did not begin or end in the period of history when Daniel and his
contemporary companions were in Babylon.)
Daniel 8: 27… I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days (from seeing the coming desolation of the
host), but afterward I arose and went about the king’s business. I was astonished by the vision,
and no one understood the vision.
Daniel 9: 1 – 2 … In the first year of Darius, of the linage of the Medes, I, Daniel, understood the
number of years specified by the word of GOD, through Jeremiah the prophet, that GOD would
accomplish (put an end to) the seventy years HE had determined in the desolation of
Jerusalem. (God showed Daniel through the writings of Jeremiah that HE would bring an end to
HIS desolation of Jerusalem (see Daniel 9: 14). So, in B.C. 457 GOD moved King Artaxerxes to
decree the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the Sanctuary.)
Daniel 9: 20 – 21 … While I, Daniel, was praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people,
and presenting my supplications before the LORD my GOD for the holy mountain of GOD (which
is Jerusalem). Yes, while I was speaking in prayer to GOD, the man‐angel Gabriel, whom I had
seen in the vision at the beginning, was caused to fly swiftly, so he reached me about the time
of the evening offering.

Daniel 9: 22 … Gabriel informed me and talked with me, and said, “O Daniel, I have now come
forth to give you skill to understand (GOD’s plan for the future).
Daniel 9: 24 … Seventy weeks/490 years are determined/decreed by GOD (as the period) for
your people and your holy city to finish the transgression and make an end of sin, to make
reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the MOST HOLY CHRIST. (The thought in this verse is the warning from GOD that
HE will cut off Judah, Daniel’s people, if they do not anoint/crown JESUS the CHRIST as the
promised Messiah when HE comes to earth and announces HIS Deity at HIS baptism at the 69th
week/483 year mark of this decree/prophecy, but it offers a one week/seven year grace period
that extends to A.D. 34. This is when the 2300 day/year vision and prophecy begins its own
countdown to the “Day of Vindication”, which is the end of probation. The 2300 year prophecy
would not have been needed if Judah had sealed the 490 year vision!
Daniel 9: 25 … Know and understand, that from the going forth of the command to restore and
build back Jerusalem until Messiah the PRINCE there shall be a 7 week/49 year period and a 62
week/434 year period of time. (This is a combined 69 week/483 year period of time.)
Daniel 9: 26 … After the 62 week period of time (at the 483 year mark), Messiah the CHRIST
shall be cut off (from the living), but not for HIMSELF. Then the (Roman) people of the prince
(of Rome), who is to come, shall destroy (and cause transgression of desolation upon) the city
and the Sanctuary. The end of it (GOD’s original plan for the city and the Sanctuary) shall be
with a flood, and until the end of the war (against GOD’s Sanctuary on earth and in Heaven, and
the host of GOD on earth) desolations are determined (to be allowed by GOD, but not that this
is HIS will)”. (This transgression of desolation against Jerusalem and the earthly Sanctuary was
mentioned by the angel of Daniel 8: 13, and did occur in A.D. 70.)
Daniel 9: 27 … (Now back to the 70 week/490 year vision and prophecy and beyond to the time
of the end/day of vindication, and the end of probation for all men.) Then (after the 69 weeks,
which was JESUS’ year of baptism; A.D. 27), GOD shall confirm a covenant with many (HIS
people) for one week/7 years, but in the middle of the week (A.D. 31; JESUS’ crucifixion year)
GOD shall bring an end to (animal) sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall
be one (little horn Bishop of Rome) who makes desolate (the host of GOD/the true New
Testament Church) even until the consummation (fullest degree of desolation) which is
determined (by GOD) is poured out on the desolate host. (Desolation is determined upon the
true host of GOD until the day of vindication, which is the end of probation for man.)
We have just seen a time line that shows the events that occur from B.C. 457 until the
vindication of the Sanctuary and the host of GOD. This period of time that we have just seen in
the Scriptures is evidently more than 2300 years, because the Day of Vindication/The End of
Probation has not occurred. If B.C. 457 was the beginning date of the 2300 day/year prophecy,
then the Day of Vindication would have occurred in A.D. 1844. Obviously probation has not
closed and the host of GOD/the Church and the unjust souls of earth are still living just as man
has since GOD created and placed man on the earth. Nothing has changed to alter the grace of

GOD for HIS host since the fall of man, except the fulfillment of the 70 week/490 year prophecy
which ushered in the 2300 day/year prophecy. Now we find ourselves in the time of the end
when “many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase” (Daniel 12: 4). GOD’s
investigative judgment of man continues as it has ever since GOD created man.
I can see how some people might think that B.C. 457 was the beginning of the 2300
mornings and evenings, because in Daniel 8: 19 – 20 we see that Gabriel begins his explanation
of future events with the ram that has two horns, which is the kingdom of Media and Persia,
and is the time of King Artaxerxes’ decree to restore and build back Jerusalem and the
Sanctuary. If Gabriel was not so specific about the vision ending with MICHAEL standing up to
go get HIS Bride, and the little horn of Rome coming to its end (Daniel 11: 45), and by numerous
other references of vindication by GOD at the end of 2300 years, then I could be persuaded to
believe that 1844 was the end of the 2300 day/year vision. But, there is just too much evidence
that A.D. 1844 was not the day of vindication, or the beginning of an investigative judgment in
the life of man. Man has been judged by GOD since the beginning, and the deeds of man have
been recorded in the books of Heaven for as long as man has existed.
Now let us continue to research Daniel’s understanding of the 2300 day/year vision that
he had seen:
Daniel 10: 1 … In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel. The
message was true, but the appointed time (of the message) was long (far away in the future).
Daniel understood the message, and had understanding of the vision (which was given).
Daniel 10: 2 … (It was like this) In those days, I was in mourning (because of the coming
desolation of my people and of our sin) three full weeks.
Daniel 10: 4 – 6 … On the 24 th day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river
Tigris, I lifted my eyes and looked, and beheld a certain man/angel clothed in linen, whose waist
was girded with gold of Uphaz. The sound of his words was like the voice of a multitude of
people.
Daniel 10: 11 – 12, 14 … And he said to me, “O Daniel, man greatly loved, understand the words
that I speak to you. Do not fear, for from the first day that you set your heart/mind to
understand (the 2300 day/year vision), and to humble yourself before GOD, your words were
heard, and I have come because of your words (of prayer to GOD). Now I have come to make
you understand what shall happen to your people (the host of GOD) in the latter days, for the
vision (of 2300 days/years) refers to many days yet to come.
Daniel 11: 1 – 45 … (This chapter is a recap of the 70 week/490 year vision and the 2300
day/year vision which was told to Daniel by the different angel messengers. The little horn
king/kingdom comes to his/its end, and no one will or can help him/it.)

Daniel 12: 1 … At that time MICHAEL (the SON of GOD) shall stand up. HE is the great PRINCE
who stands watch over your people. (Probation for man to repent of his sins and surrender to
JESUS as the CHRIST is now over.) And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since
there was a nation, and even to that time (of MICHAEL standing up). At that time (when
Michael stands up and vindication comes upon the little horn) your people shall be delivered,
that is everyone who is found written in the Book (of Life). (The Jews were given 490 years to
seal up vision and prophesy and accept JESUS as the Messiah, and the host of GOD who now
live in the Church age have been given 2300 years to finish the transgression, make an end of
sin, make reconciliation for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, and seal up vision and
prophesy, or be rejected by GOD just like Judah was.
Daniel 12: 2 … Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to
everlasting life, and some (shall awake) to everlasting contempt (and eternal death).
Daniel 12: 4 … But you, Daniel, shut up the words (you have seen in vision), and seal the book
until the time of the end when many shall be running to and fro, and knowledge shall increase,
(then the host of GOD will understand).
Daniel 12: 6 – 7 … And one (angel) said to the man/angel who was clothed in linen, “How long
shall the fulfillment of these wonders (many running to and fro, and knowledge increasing)
be?” Then I heard the man/angel clothed in linen say, after he held up his right and left hands
to heaven and swore by the GOD who lives forever, “It shall be for a time, two times, and half a
time (which is 1260 days/years). And, (after these things) when the power (endurance) of the
holy people (the host of GOD) has been completely shattered, all these things (I have shown to
you in the 2300 day/year vision) shall be finished, (and then the host and the Sanctuary shall be
vindicated).
Daniel 12: 8 … Although I, Daniel, heard (the man/angel in linen tell me these things), I did not
understand (the meaning). Then I said, “My lord, what shall be the end (or outcome) of these
things (you have been telling me).
Daniel 12: 9 … And he said to me, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words (you have been told) are
closed up and sealed until the time of the end (then these words will be understood).
Daniel 12: 13 … Daniel, go your way until the end, for you shall rest (in your grave of death),
and then you will arise to your inheritance at the end of days. (Daniel, rest in peace, for at the
resurrection of the just you shall receive your reward of eternal life, and then you will
understand everything.)
To those who believe A.D. 1844 was the end of the 2300 day/year vision that was
revealed to Daniel, I must admit that I do not see the Scriptures teaching that the 70 week/490
year vision and prophecy is being cut off from the 2300 day/year prophecy any more than I see
the last week of the 70 week/490 year prophecy being cut off from the whole and moved to the
“End of Days”. Please know for certain that the 70 weeks/490 years of probation that God gave

to Daniel’s people, the Jews, set the stage for the 2300 years of desolation that came upon the
Sanctuary and the host of GOD. Judah did not finish the transgression, make an end of sin,
make reconciliation for iniquity, bring in everlasting righteousness, seal up vision and prophecy,
and anoint the MOST HOLY JESUS as the Messiah. Daniel’s people had to fulfill GOD’s
expectations of them or be cut off from the ROOT of the Olive Tree and the inheritance as
GOD’s chosen people. Remember that the man/angel Gabriel had told Daniel that the 2300
years of desolation “refers to the time of the end” (Daniel 8: 17), which is after the crucifixion
and resurrection of JESUS CHRIST our LORD. May GOD alone be glorified, Amen!
